________

As I write this I'm snuggled up not in my office where I should be, but on my couch. Yes, it's warm, so the word 'snuggled' is used lightly; I'm indeed sitting on top of my throw. So, why the heck is all this relevant to today's post? Well, I'm pretending to be cuddled up because it's stormy outside. I'm talking thunder and lightening, giant-sized raindrops, and dark gloomy clouds that make it feel like it's 7:00PM, not 5:00PM. This is wildly appropriate since we experienced the same just moments after shooting inside our Grand Business Class room at Siam@Siam Design Hotel in Bangkok. Humid and stormy weather, typical to Thailand's tropical climate, has somehow found it's way down to Perth, though nowhere near as muggy.

Our luxe hotel room was the perfect vantage point to watch the series of storms around us, perched on the huge bed or daybed looking out through the floor-to-ceiling windows. We watched lighting strike after lighting strike connect with skyscrapers on the horizon, while we were somehow drenched in sunshine with blue sky above. That was one of my favourite things about the Grand Business Class room; the windows allowed a 180-degree view of the never-ending Bangkok and it's spontaneous weather.

I make a habit to sleep with the curtains open when we're blessed with such vibrant views. I drift off while watching the sparkling city lights and wake naturally to the call of the sun. Now that's my idea of a good morning.
