I'm a sun-loving creature, even in the depth of winter.
________
Last year when we were in Tokyo, I wouldn't have dream of leaving my thermals behind and exposing skin from the face down.
But this time? Heck, I wore my skinny ripped skin-exposing jeans in the snow in Niseko, let alone Tokyo. It just wasn't
that cold this time. I mean, it
was cold, just not bitterly so.
The afternoon sun that would stream down through buildings and exposed streets felt like a warm dream. It was as though spring was coming early for the northern hemisphere any, my goodness, was I enjoying every warm second of it. Brad, Shane and I were even forced to wear sunglasses during the day whilst exploring, although I did notice we were the only ones. Maybe it's an Aussie thing? We do, after all, wear sunglasses all-year round.
And as we discovered new nooks and crannies that we missed last time (and trust me, there are lots of them), I found myself slowly drifting along whenever the sun would break free between the sky-high, never-ending buildings, longing for it's welcomed kiss. What can I say? I'm a sun-loving creature.
