The Ultimate Winter Beauty Survival Kit
We need more than a hot chocolate and snuggly blanket to get through winter.
________
The kit is all about keeping not only your body, face and hair nourished, but also our health, which can be super difficult in this dry winter environment. So, without further ado, let's get into all these goodies.

THE BODY
When I was a late teen, my tan of choice was, not surprisingly, Le Tan. Unfortunately for my parents though, my formula of choice was the Le Tan in Le Can spray, which, while has a very cool name, is also very messy. I'm pretty sure the grout is still orange to this day - now that is some long lasting tan. Sorry Mum and Dad! Needless to say, I was glad that the box included the Le Tan Fast Tan Instant Foaming Mousse instead of the spray (our new mostly white bathrooms say no to messy sprays), with the same golden brown tan. After all, I would never say no to a bit of mid-winter colour.
And you can't have a fake tan without exfoliating and moisturising, which is where the Beauty Theory Loofah Pad (that conveniently has a cotton back) and Optiva Comforting Body Balm comes in, not to mention that they're essentials in rejuvenating dull winter skin.
________
THE FACE
You already know how much I adore my serums, and this one by Optiva Aqua-Capture Serum is all about hydrating and soothing, which is another perfect winter product. I will say though, that it's consistency is more like a lotion, however, it's lightweight formula does sink into the skin instantly making it perfect for under the Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream ( love this rose hip cream!) and SPF foundations. And if you're looking to add a little more colour to your complexion, then the Salon Tan Face Lotion is a great option as well, year round.
One of the most exciting products in the Winter Beauty Survival Kit is the Trilogy Everything Balm. The first multi purpose balm I ever used was by Kosmea and it was a favourite for a very long time, and I suspect that this Everything Balm by Trilogy will be another beauty cupboard favourite. These balms are all about nourishing anything that needs nourishing; dry skin, lips, cuticles and anything else. All that my lips would need is a slick of the Colour Theory Lipsticks in Abandon Ship! and Autumn Ambition, both of which are sheer yet buildable (and ridiculously affordable) shades.
I haven't yet used the Ultra Derm Skin Recovery Mask, but it's suppose to be good for calming, hydrating and restoring skin after a salon treatment, so I'm very keen to use it after an at-home peel I'm going to try soon. Hopefully it reduces any redness, irritation and inflammation that I may have afterwards.
________
THE HAIR AND THE HEALTH
After every wash, I always apply an oil or leave-in conditioner in winter to keep my hair soft and healthy, which is why the Cedel Conditioning Foam with Argan Oil will also be a regular in my winter beauty post shower routine. The foam formula leaves my hair feeling and looking nourished and smooth, not to mention the lack of knots and frizziness. Win win!
Finally, the Survival Kit is also equipped to kick those nasty colds in the butt, with the Blackmores Cold Relief Bio C 1000mg and Blackmores Cold Combat Multi-Symptom Relief, two things Brad and I definitely lack in our medical box. I was just saying how I probably wouldn't need them this winter and then last night I went to bed with a slightly sore throat - great. So, this morning I had one of the Cold Relief tablets to hopefully reduce my symptoms before they have a chance to develop. Fingers crossed!
Since I don't actually get cold sores, the Ego Vira Pro X Triple Action Lip Balm is probably a little useless for me, though I do believe it is actually a great lip balm as well. This will be going in my next beauty pack to share with friends.
