The Best of the Festive Scents: Candles and Diffusers

It's a Christmas miracle (in a jar).
________

While the northern hemisphere has spiced pumpkin lattes, fresh pine trees and falling snow flakes, we  have, well, none of those cosy holiday fragrances. I mean, c'mon, you guys don't know how lucky you are (sans the whole -30° weather, anyway)! Just imagine what the festive period would be like if your plastic Christmas trees smelled like dust from being stored away for the last 11-months. Yeah, told you. So, us Aussie's and fellow southern hemisphere residents have to make up for it somehow and, for me, that means stocking up on candles and diffusers with a distinct holiday fragrance.

GLASSHOUSE FRAGRANCES:

This year, Glasshouse Fragrances has pulled through with the goods once again with their Limited Edition Christmas Range. Not only is the packaging simply exquisite in all of its gold foil glory, but they have really outdone themselves with the stunning festive scents.

I have the Glasshouse White Christmas Triple Scented Candle, which smells like a cosy room lit by a glowing fireplace with red and white stockings hanging from the mantle as snow gently drifts down outside, also known as Cedar Leaf & Fruity Clove. It's provides a perfectly balanced, not-too-sweet fragrance throughout the room even when the lid is off, not to mention when it is burning.

Oh yes, I'm a huge fan of Glasshouse (one peek at my Instagram proves my undying love for the brand).

CIRCA HOME:

Another favourite of mine is Circa Home, who's clean white designs fits perfectly in our new Scandi beach home.

It's the  Circa Home Red Spiced Pear 1970 Fragrance Diffuser that is currently drifting through the rooms of our house, which evokes winter-like memories of wrapping my fingers around a hot mug of chai tea and indulging in a sweet dessert pie (with a dollop of ice-cream, of course). In fact, it almost makes me forget that it's only cool inside thanks to our air-con. Almost.

A little hint for the diffuser though; only add half of the wooden reeds to the bottle to begin with and add the rest later as the scent fades (it's very strong, so you don't need them all to emit the beautiful scent straight away). Your whole house will be delightfully swimming in this sweet and light scent until Christmas and beyond.

The best thing? These make the very best Christmas gifts (and not just for yourself) that you'll know will be the first to be opened and used come the 25th.
