When it comes to summer, finding that perfect foundation can be a huge challenge, as too many of you will already know. If you're not facing a daily slip-and-slide, then chances are you still haven't discovered the one that actually lasts through a whole day of heat, let alone a foundation that feels like it isn't melting off your skin. For me and my typically dry skin, I need a foundation that looks natural, isn't too heavy, covers uneven skin tone and blemishes, hydrates and lasts throughout a hot day. Surely that isn't too much to ask, right? I'm sure all of you, no matter what your skin type, have a requirements list as long as that (or longer!), so today I wanted to share with you my surprisingly very large Rimmel London foundation collection and try to help you choose the right one for you.

OILY SKIN TYPE

I know so many of you struggle with oily skin, especially come summer, so I wanted to begin this lineup with the  Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation and  Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer. The Matte Primer is much thicker than any I've used previously, and smooths on to fill in pores and fine lines. It is perfectly matched with the Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation, a true matte, medium coverage foundation that blends effortlessly and dries instantly with no transfer. It's a great mousse foundation for those that really struggle with oily skin, but remember that it will emphasise any dry patches that you might have, so it is solely for those that need that oil control, especially during the warmer months.

Another that is great for those of you with oily skin is the  Rimmel London Lasting Finish Powder Foundation, which can be used as is for a light matte coverage or with a wet sponge for full coverage. It's also great if you need a little dusting of it during the day to re-mattify the t-zone, which is what I've been using it for on long hot days.

NORMAL/COMBINATION SKIN TYPE

The first thing I noticed when I began trialling the  Rimmel London Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation SPF 20 is how well it matched my own skin tone. I'll admit, it does take a little effort to blend, however it is well worth spending that extra time as the finished product reveals healthy, dewy looking skin. I've been using it with the  Rimmel London Fix & Protect Makeup Primer, a white, thin primer that applies invisible.

I've actually already reviewed the  Rimmel London 9 in 1 Radiance BB Cream in this Rimmel First Impressions video, where I stated how much I adored the stunning natural glow it gave my skin, like I'd already applied my favourite Hourglass Ambience Powder. It doesn't really cover any imperfections and does tend to settle into the drier areas around my nose, however it definitely smooths out my uneven skin tone and I have reached for it on days I don't need that extra coverage (and my skin isn't super dry).

I've heard mixed reviews of the  Rimmel London Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Full Coverage Foundation SPF 20, but I feel like it ticks lots of boxes for me. While it takes around 5-minutes to set, I think it has this beautiful, natural look to it, like I'm not wearing any foundation at all. It gives my skin a lovely, natural glow that isn't too dewy like some have mentioned, however it definitely isn't full coverage. I would say it is a medium coverage foundation that absolutely lives up to its claim that it lasts through sweat and humidity, which is pretty amazing if I don't say so myself.

DRY SKIN TYPE

I find that the  Rimmel London Lasting Finish Skin Perfecting Medium Coverage Foundation SPF 20 is actually more hydrating than the Skin Perfecting Full Coverage Foundation and only has a slightly lighter coverage that is also buildable without going cakey. It doesn't emphasise my dry patches either, which I'm strangely suffering from at the moment, which is why it's been one of my go-to foundation lately (that and the Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation).
