The Grey Tee and Lace-Up Pencil Skirt

Transitioning into 'work mode'.
________

Even though I work primarily from home, getting ready in the morning is an important part of my everyday routine. As much as I'd love to sport my stylish pyjamas throughout the working week (which admittedly I do every once in a blue moon), but wearing something a little more polished allows me to transition to work mode and up my productivity levels. I mean, coffee does the latter, but it's no where near as fun as a new outfit (as delicious as it is), right?

Truthfully, my transition into work mode usually involves a pair of boyfriend jeans and a striped tee, or any one of my casual go-to pieces, but I do often swap out the comfy basics for a pencil skirt and stiletto pumps. There's something about running errands in heels that makes it feel so official. Well, so long as it's not a long walk - in that case, it's just painful.

Admittedly, when the Kendall + Kylie for Forever New collection was launched, the figure-hugging range wasn't exactly my style (goodness knows, I'm no Kardashian/Jenner), except for a few gorgeous pieces, including this sharp black pencil skirt; sexy split, check, lace-up detail, check. Paired with a slightly oversized and cropped tee, this is an outfit that is certain to turn me into an over-productive worker. Check.

Today is a public holiday in Australia, a controversial one at that, but I'll definitely be swapping my office desk for the beach and the pencil skirt for a summer dress. Chances are, as you're reading this, I'll be listening to the top ten tunes of the Triple J Hottest 100 in the sunshine (loads of SPF applied, I promise) with friends. It's going to be nice just spending a day chilling out, especially as my workload continues to climb as we get further and further into the New Year - go figure, eh?

Enjoy your day, ladies and gentlemen! x
