6 Cosy Nail Polish Shades for Autumn

Burnt orange, musky pinks and natural nudes.
________

While the weatherman might be trying to convince us otherwise, today is indeed the first day of autumn. Sure, cooler days still seem too far away, but that doesn't mean we can't pretend that the leaves are already turning orange and our wish list isn't already full of cable knits, right? In fact, I've decided it's time to put aside the pastels and replace them with cosier, earthy toned nail polishes. Just kidding, I'll never push my pastels to one side. You get my point.

It might be somewhat typical to get amongst the warmer, heartier hues in autumn, but hey, it's only natural after months dominated by the cooler blues and turquoises of the ocean. Not that I'm complaining. I'm definitely not complaining. It's just that I like to change things up every once in a while and a new season seems like the perfect excuse to make that happen. So, you'll forgive me for the beautiful shades of burnt orange, musky pinks and natural nudes. How can you not?

The Dusty Oranges & Pinks

First in the line-up is a cosy orange and one that has actually featured on Lion in the Wild previously, the  O.P.I Nail Lacquer  in  It's a Piazza Cake. It doesn't get warmer than this deeper, darker orange hue that is positively glowing burnt and brilliant. Of course, if you're after something a little sweeter, then you'll adore the collaboration between  Kester Black x O&M  and its dusty berry shade,  Queenie . It's the prettier version, but just as cosy as its burnt orange counterpart. Then there's the  Sephora Nail Lacquer  in  Think Big , the perfect musky nude with a hint of pink. In fact, the colour is so good that you wouldn't hesitate to put it on your lips if it came in lipstick packaging (and wasn't nail polish). It's that good.

The Dark & Light Nudes

Rich, chocolately and cosy, the  Estée Lauder Pure Colour Nail Lacquer  in  Buffed is well worth the splurge. Now, I'm a huge fan of the brand (never met a product I didn't like), but if there was one nail polish shade from their Pure Colour collection I had to choose, it'd probably be this one. If all else fails, go nude. Not nude nude, but a barely there nail polish. The  Sephora Nail Lacquer  in  Undress Me Now has is fairly transparent with pink undertones, while the  Sportsgirl Nail It!  in  Nude is more saturated with yellow undertones - take your pick. Either way, you can't go wrong.
