The Catch-Up: Balenciaga, Shopbop and HyperLuxe
Our weekly conversation.
________
Another week, another weekly catch-up.
As we do every weekend, not only do I want to talk to you about the highlights of my week, but I also want to know about yours! Did you finish something exciting? Start a reading an autobiography? Or go to the hairdressers? No matter what it is, I'd love to know! After all, Lion in the Wild is all about conversation, getting to know each other and discovering new things.
Becoming a graphic designer. Did you know that in second year at university I almost changed majors from creative advertising to graphic design? I really enjoyed branding and typographic design, and I thought I sucked at art direction and copywriting. That was until I got a High Distinction for my first ad unit. Sweet. And now, here I am, spending a big chunk of the week on Illustrator and InDesign rebranding Lion in the Wild like an Adobe whizz. And you know what? It turns out I still love it. I can not wait to show you what we've got up our sleeves!
Shopbop made me. Again. As you know, my new Acne Jensen Boots arrived at my door this week, and they're everything and more. And then Shopbop had a sale. And I caved at the sight of my seriously amazing wish list. More to come very soon. [Insert very, very, very excited face here.]
Edgy cool. I'm finally on the chocker slash necktie band wagon thanks to über cool Accessories by G. and their collection of ah-mazing neckwear. I'm seriously in-love with my new pieces and, of course, they'll be in more than just a cluttered flat lay overlaid with a VSCO filter before you know it. What can I say? It's what I do.
A hint of Balenciaga. This week I've ditched my usual fragrances for the B. Balenciaga Skin Eau de Parfum. I'll admit that it was the stunning rose gold, nude and blush packaging that had me at hello, but it's the feminine, delicate and sensual scent that will stop me saying goodbye. It doesn't disappoint. Who would have thought that green tea, peony and cedarwood would be the perfect combination? Alexander Wang did.
HyperLuxe. To say I'm addicted to activewear right now would be an understatement. The most unlikely thing has happened; I've been working out at least five times a week for some time now. Who am I?! ANYWAY, Perth has a cool new boutique that specialises in stylish workout threads, HyperLuxe and I'm a major fan girl over here. I'll be showing you what I got on the @lioninthewild Instagram over the next few days, so make sure you're following along.
And now I'm off to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the AFL Western Derby (go Eagles!).
