Monaco Day 1: A Magical Evening in Monte Carlo

LOCATION: Monte Carlo, Monaco
PHOTOGRAPHY: Brad Jarman
IN COLLABORATION WITH: Fairmont Hotels & RESORTS and Le Labo Fragrances

We had such a fabulous, fantastic, phenomenal time in Monaco that I wanted to split the travel diary into three parts, ‘cause one would’ve resembled a novel rather than a blog post. So, voila! Welcome to day one of our adventures with dream team Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Le Labo Fragrances. Trust me, you’re going to want to get lost in the world of #FairmontxLeLabo.

1:00PM

The story began at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, where Brad and I were greeted by a friendly chauffeur and driven through the infamously narrow and windy streets down to Monaco, oo-ing and ah-ing at the exquisitely beautiful landscape at every corner.

1:45PM

Our check-in at the Fairmont Monte Carlo was warm and swift, and before we knew it we were being blown away by the panorama of the sparkling Mediterranean displayed before us from our Deluxe Premium Sea View Room. We continued to jump up and down on our private terrace in excitement at the prospect of enjoying this epic view over the next couple of days, only stopping to test the luxurious Le Labo Fragrances Rose 31 amenities in our hotel room. We’d found heaven.

2:45PM

I reluctantly whisked myself away from heaven, aka. our hotel room, for another kind of paradise; the Fairmont Spa. For the next hour, I sank into a deep peacefulness during my Absolute Relaxation Massage experience, one of the most soothing massages ever – and I don’t say that lightly. It was simply divine. Post massage, I rehydrated with a fresh juice and freshened up in the Ladies Lounge before floating back to our room.

6:30PM

Dressed in a flirtatious fit-and-flare dress, it was time to begin our celebrations with everyone on the #FairmontxLeLabo trip and there’s no better way to do it than at Horizon Deck, champagne in hand. With the sun setting majestically over 360° views of Monaco and the Mediterranean, we couldn’t help but boomerang the evening away (you can view them all on my saved Insta Stories!). That’s what happens when you get a bunch of Instagram creatives together!

8:00PM

At nightfall, we ventured down to Fairmont Monte Carlo’s NOBU restaurant for the feast of all feasts. If you didn’t already know, Japanese cuisine is our all-time favourite and NOBU tops the list for food most craved on a daily basis (not even kidding), so you can imagine how excited we were when we spotted the restaurant on our itinerary. The rest of the night was a blur of tantalising sashimi and sushi, cappuccino-inspired desserts and bespoke cocktails among new friends and amazing company. We later crawled into bed with heavy lids and satisfied bellies, excited for the day ahead.

I can’t wait to share with you the rest of the adventure on LIONINTHEWILD.COM this week!

I’m wearing:

Keepsake dress (also available in red), CLUSE delicate necklace, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag and The Mode Collective heels.
