Keeping Comfy in Tees and Jeans

Well, it’s been a funny couple of weeks here at home in Perth. Instead of forging through my huge list of work before jetting off again, it seems my body has decided that right now would be the perfect time to catch the flu, ‘enjoy’ two-hour afternoon naps (not like me at all, ever!) and generally feel a bit bluh. Needless to say, I’m not very impressed, but thanks to a dose of daily vitamins and a whole lotta’ rest, I’m back up and at it again.
Since I have been feeling better, I decided that this weekend was a fantastic opportunity to get out and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. Of course, there’s been a lack of blue skies around here lately too, so halfway through my walk it began to rain (check out those menacing storm cloud overhead!). It was on with my UNIQLO denim jacket and back home for me, but not before grabbing a coffee-to-go. Despite the rain, which I kind of enjoyed, it was definitely worth getting out because it made me feel a billions time better.
Plus, it was a great moment to finally wear my new UNIQLO pieces that I picked up from my favourite local Perth store in the city. I’ve spoken a zillion times before about how much I swear by their tee’s (they’re crazy affordable and the highest quality), so this time instead of stocking up on my go-to plain crew neck t-shirt, I was drawn to the limited edition UT collection on display in all of their unique graphic coolness. I got a couple of the SPRZ NY t-shirts, including the red and white striped number I’m wearing in this post, and Jean-Michel Basquiat t-shirts, also worn here on a slightly sunnier day.
I also grabbed a pair of the super comfy ultra stretch jeans with ripped knees since they’re a must-have for everyday wear (you’ll almost always find me in skinny or boyfriend jeans at this time of the year). There’s no doubting I’ll be rocking these a lot over the coming months and, let’s be real, years. After all, a good pair of flattering jeans is so hard to find!
Actually, this whole outfit is very much a ‘Kiara outfit’ – jeans, tee and a jacket. Easy-peasy-Japanese-y. When I don’t know what to wear, this is pretty much my go-to every single time. It’s comfy, it’s casual and it’s versatile. You can also smarten it up with a blazer or longline coat and a pair of boots or heels too, depending on what your day entails.
For now though, I’m living in my tee and jeans combo while I catch-up on work in the office (coffee definitely included) and push through a whole day without napping. Why-oh-why does the flu take so long to get over?
Wish you a lovely week ahead! ❤️
