MY ESSENTIAL SHOES LIST

I have over 50 pairs of shoes, but let's be honest, I don't wear them all on a regular basis (or, in some cases, never). So I decided to make a list of my four essential pairs, minus my trusty Converse sneakers. To be honest, this task was a lot easier than I thought, which makes me think perhaps I don't need those 46+ other pairs. Or maybe I do. Truth be told though, the heels above have undoubtedly made the most appearances here on Lion in the Wild.

1. The Boot
I have completely destroyed every single pair of black boots I've ever owned because I wear them to absolute death. I wear them to bars, to brunch, to the supermarket and (almost) everywhere else you could imagine. They're easily the most versatile option in my wardrobe. I invested in these Topshop Premium boots earlier in the year when I was in Vancouver and they have been practically superglued to my feet ever since. Not only are they super comfortable, but they add a little extra height to my 5"6 stature.

2. The Peeptoe Bootie
These bad boys have a tendency to take your outfit to the next level, not to mention the fact that they go with pretty much everything. The peeptoe bootie is a huge trend at the moment, but I personally think it is going to stay around for a while (or at least I hope!). As soon as I saw this pair from Tony Bianco on Instagram, I knew I just couldn't resist.

3. The Classic Pump
Every woman needs a pair of patent pointed pumps. Their classic style means they'll polish off any look, whether you're wearing a pencil skirt or ripped boyfriend jeans. These baby's will effortlessly take you from day to night, like a vintage Chanel bag. Buy a pair of pumps and I can guarantee you'll be wearing them for years to come (hello, cost per wear).

4. The Strappy Sandal
I remember when strappy sandals reemerged in the world of fashion a few years ago, a welcomed contrast to the platform. It took me a while to find the right pair for the right price, as retail slowly adopted this high-end trend, but damn was the wait worth it. Again, they go with absolutely everything and add a level of elegance and sophistication to ensembles (plus I love their minimal design).
