SPRING BLOOMS

Spring has finally sprung here in Perth, and while the sky is a perfect blue as I look outside my office window, only minutes ago it was raining (once again). Lately it seems as though just when you settle under the warm sun, a dark stormy cloud looms.

On Monday Brad and I decided to pack a picnic and trek up to Araluen Botanical Park, well known for its colourful spring blooms. Only a couple of days into spring, I well and truly wasn't expecting the park to be blooming so early. It was such a lovely surprise to find ourselves surrounded by tulips of every bright hue, making it truly feel like spring. Unfortunately, just as we were about to set up our picnic, the heavens opened. While everybody else ran for cover we decided to stick it out and embrace the rain (after all it wasn't raining too heavily). Eventually it did get heavier and forced us to pack up shop, but it was fun nonetheless.

And as I wrap up this post, the weather has turned one more and not one bit of blue sky is visible. Oh how I can not wait for warm cloudless spring days!
