HELLO SUNSHINE, COME INTO MY LIFE

It's hard to believe that these photographs were taken just last week, during a freezing Japan winter, considering that since I've been home in Australia the maximum temperatures haven't dropped below 30-degrees Celsius. Believe it or not, but this was actually a 'warm' winters day in Osaka, where we were blessed with clear blue skies and, yes, sunshine. While the thermals came off, the layers remained, which are kind of the best thing about winter, right? Something we don't really get to take advantage of during our mild Perth winters.

When layering, I find it easiest to focus on a key piece, like this Lola Vs Harper button up blouse and build varying textured layers around (or on top of) that particular item. I chose a leather skirt I'd picked up the day before from Zara and a slouchy blazer that had travelled with me throughout Japan, again from Lola Vs Harper. And how could I leave our hotel without my new favourite black coat? This was one of the first times it was actually warm enough to slouch it over my shoulders too (score!).

Unfortunately by midday, the sunshine became a distant memory as storm threatening clouds covered the skies once again, and I was back to shivering uncontrollably as I ate my ice-cream (because ice-cream knows no season).
