Wandering Around The Rocks in Sydney

And pretending I wasn't freezing my butt off.

________

Staying at The Amora Hotel meant that Brad and I were just a quick hop and skip from Sydney's infamous historic site, The Rocks. After a quick pick-me-up (caffeine, coffee, cuppa, cappa) at The Fine Food Store, we decided to take our chances with the '80% chance of rain' and take our time wandering around the cobblestone streets, historic buildings and charming townhouses. This is, of course, the absolute number one best way to explore a new place.

Luckily for my skirt-wearing self, we somehow managed to avoid the rain despite the looming dark clouds. Even the harrowing wind didn't manage to turn my legs purple with cold, which is surprising considering how cold it usually is along the Harbour (I do remember shivering wildly last time I was here). Maybe my snuggly coatigan and patent boots kept me toasty warm?

To be honest, I'd been wearing skirts and shorts up until the last few weeks of winter, adamant that I no longer felt the cold like I used to. Unfortunately for me, despite having frozen my butt off in -15 to -30 degree weather in the northern hemisphere these past years, my body still thinks anything under 20-celsius is cold enough for thermals (kidding, I've only worn thermals once this winter...). I blame it on being Australian and the fact that my body functions best at anywhere between 27 to 34 degrees. I know, it's a fussy thing. Needless to say, I've given up on exposing my legs throughout the winter, instead sticking with my go-to denim.
