Gold Jewellery and A Pre-Weekend Manicure

Plus, a little personal update.

________

After a very busy morning, I decided to spend the rest of Friday afternoon watching Revenge and dabbling in a little nail art. Actually, I was kind of forced to relax as much as possible after experiencing heart palpitations this morning (a very scary experience!). It's been a challenging year so far to say the least, with lots of both ups and downs. While we finally seem to be getting back into the swing of things and settling down again, feeling my heart suddenly beat what felt like out of my chest was more than enough to make me realise I need to take better care of myself (and take time off every once in a while!).

As expected though, I failed at the whole nail art thing (and doing absolutely nothing). I was inspired to create something like this, and since I really wanted to try my new white Faby Nail Lacquer and Andrea Fullerton Gold Nail Art Pen, I figured there was no better time to do so. Unfortunately, I can't say I was a fan of either product, but then again, my high expectations or lack of skills was probably to blame. The nail polish didn't apply well and was super streaky, even after 3 coats, and the Nail Art Pen was too hard to apply the too thin product inside.

It's such a shame too, since I really wanted them to compliment these amazing new SW Fine pieces by Samantha Wills. After all, there's nothing better than a fresh manicure to compliment fingers stacked with fine gold rings, right? Oh well, maybe next time. For now though, I'm off to soak in a hot bath with some Sephora bath goodies and a good book. Now that is relaxation.

Like I said though, I am no nail expert, so I'd love to know if you've had better luck with these products? Additionally, if you have any tips or tricks to get that amazing white and gold nail art look, let me know!
