The Beauty Collab You’ll Want on Your Nails ASAP

Fun fact: I rarely painted my nails until recently. I was never one to spend time covering them in a colourful lacquer that would just chip and crack anyway. And now? Well, it's rather rare to see them unpainted - don't ask what happened. My seasonal nail polish edits have become a guideline for my nails (see: summer, spring, winter) and, if that fails, there's always the white, light and pale hues that have become my go-to shades.

Of course, I have my favourite brands that have appeared here on Lion in the Wild many a time and on that list is, of course, Kester Black, who have a killer list of impressive collaborations under their belt. Their latest and possibly greatest? The limited edition trio of distinct stone inspired shades in celebration of the partnership between Beauty EDU and David Jones.

I, for one, gushed when I discovered the three beautiful and very wearable shades; a clay pink, stone grey and black terrazzo flecks. While it's been dubbed the perfect summer collection, for me it provokes feelings of being back in Niseko, Hokkaido, in the height of winter with its luxury cement apartment buildings and great mounds of snow, littered with fallen foliage. Can you tell I miss it? A summer without snow is a long summer indeed. Or at least it is for one that has spent the last few summers in a northern winter.

Needless to say, while it's the Kester Black x EDU Stone Nail Polish that has graced my nails the most over the past couple of weeks (I have a soft spot for its almost-white shade), I adore the combination of all three, especially since I'm neither patient or steady enough for nail art (and the speckled Kester Black x EDU Terrazzo Nail Polish almost passes for it). Together, the Clay, Stone and Terrazzo polishes make for an über cool set of nails.

Expect to see any one or a combination of these stunning polishes making special appearances on the pages of Lion in the Wild for many months to come, no matter the season; hot, cold or in-between. Trust me when I say, this is one collection that won't get lost among the masses in my nail polish drawer.
