The Catch-Up: Cruising, Glowing & Scrubbing
Our weekly conversation.
________
Another week, another weekly catch-up. As we do every weekend, not only do I want to talk to you about the highlights of my week, but I also want to know about yours! Did you try a new recipe? Begin a new tradition? Or enjoy a little down time? No matter what it is, I'd love to know! After all, Lion in the Wild is all about conversation, getting to know each other and discovering new things.
An unexpected break. Oops! I had planned on blogging loads over the last couple weeks, but I came down with a nasty little cold and couldn't even bring myself to look at a screen for an extended amount of time (unless it was for Netflix). Just when I thought I was getting better, I completely lost my voice! And not in that sexy husky kind of way (I've sounded ridiculous all week long, or at least I do when I can actually make a noise). It's kind of hilarious. Anyway, I'm feeling loads better now, just in time for the weekend and Brad's birthday! And to catch some extra zzz's.
A perfect day for a cruise. Last Sunday I spent the day on my dad's boat with my lovely family, cruising about and eating delicious food between refreshing swims and dolphin spotting. Despite going through almost a whole tube of Clinique Sun Body Cream SPF30+, it was kind of perfect. Truth be told, there is no better way to spend a 38°C day, in my humble opinion. It was also the first opportunity I've had to sport my new Vitamin A reversible one-piece (Instagram snap here). I'm hoping we'll be able to do it again soon before the leaves turn orange and autumn finally sets in.
Scrub-a-dub-dub. If there's one thing you can count on when you have a cold, it's dry, flakey, chapped lips. Not cool, dude. So, I decided to finally try the new Frank Lip Scrub and Lip Balm Duo to help a gal out. Of course, I fell in-love with the first circular motion and moisturising swipe; no surprise considering I'm a self confessed Frank Body fan. They're going straight to my beauty shelf.
Getting my Glow on. It might be autumn, but it looks like our warm days aren't going anywhere anytime soon (it was 40°C on Monday - yikes!), so I decided to try out the Glow By Beca Self Tan last weekend. As a chocolate tanning mousse, it did apply a little purple on my very pale skin, but then developed into the most lovely natural-looking colour without the slightest hint of gross orange-ness (you feel me?), especially when it was washed off. In fact, I've already applied it for this weekend - you know, making the most of the warm weather before it ends!).
The Shower Shelf Edit. Of recent times, our shower shelf has become a cluttered mess of products we rarely use or those that have been completed used up. It was about time I went through everything and created an edit for both Brad and I, depending on our personal preferences. I must say, it is now one stylish shower shelf. More to come on that, so stay tuned for Monday.
