The Best Place To Do Yoga in Bali

Up in the trees with The Luxe Nomad.

6:30AM. I'd like to say that it was the gentle buzzing of the Ubud jungle that woke us, but let's be frank, only our third consecutive alarm could've done the job. We awoke in our comfy cloud-like bed, which almost convinced us to remain wrapped in its embrace, if not for our morning plans.

Sure, it was our last morning before we had to pack our bags and check-out of Kamandalu, but there was something else on that I had been looking forward to before we even arrived.

6:45AM. Dressed in my Nimble Activewear crop top, matching pants and an oversized tee, we made our way down through the resort. As we reached the pathway to Rumah Yoga, our gaze was met with one of the most incredible view I've ever experienced; a Balinese building of wood and glass set amid the treetops of the Ubud rainforest. The humidity and fog drifted gracefully through the jungle as we descended further towards our destination.

7:25AM. Warmed up and straight into our coincidental private lesson (yesterday's morning session had over a dozen attendees and today, well, we had the Yoga Master all to ourselves), I was enjoying the benefits of the stretching, controlled breathing and meditation already.

Our friendly and very funny yoga teacher was pushing my body into poses I didn't even know were possible for a novice like me (I've only been doing yoga for the last few months). Brad, on the other hand, was understanding just how challenging the discipline truly is, being his first ever yoga session.

8:55AM. I was having a 'pinch-me' moment, laying on the mat as our class came to a close. Is there a better way to start the day? I mean, here I was, in one of the most magical and spiritual places I've ever experienced, having a private yoga class with an incredible teacher, all while being surrounded by a jungle humming with life. Oh, if only each morning began like this!

9:05AM. As we walked back up to our Pool Villa, where our breakfast was waiting, I felt both at peace and full of energy, ready for wherever the day may take us. It was the perfect way to bid farewell to Kamandalu.
