The Must-See Hidden Paradise in Seminyak
The calm between the chaos with Lifestyle Retreats.
________
I still remember the first time we experienced it. I mean, heck, the whole thing is documented right here on Lion in the Wild (funny that!). Luckily for us though, this time we had the pleasure of staying here during our brief stint in buzzing Seminyak, Bali's most fashionable district.
Arriving from chilled-out Canggu, Brad and I were a little overwhelmed by the tsunami of cars, motorcycles, pedestrians and noise that grace the streets of Seminyak, despite having stayed here numerous times before. While we both prefer the quieter parts of Bali, Seminyak is the epicentre of cool - beach clubs, designer boutiques, fine dining, organic cafés, you name it.
And that's where The Amala comes into play; a hidden and secluded holistic retreat that is so much more than just a peaceful home base during your Seminyak adventures. In fact, it's so tranquil that you'd be forgiven for forgetting your central location, with tall walls and a thick tropical rainforest that drown out the surrounding racket, a much welcomed illusion.

Upon arrival at The Amala, we're informed by the retreat manager that we had been upgraded (there'll be time for jumping up and down in excitement later) and that our villa will be ready for us soon. After finishing our chilled welcome drinks, we decided to take advantage of our early arrival by enjoying a couple of fresh smoothies at the familiar Bamboo Restaurant, which resides down a tunnel of lush greenery and calming water features.
We sat on the comfy loungers, situated between the private rooms at The Spa at The Amala (one of my favourite spa's, ever), which gives you a glimpse of the beautiful sparkling pool at the edge of the restaurant. Needless to say, we almost didn't want to retreat to our villa, but alas, the time had come.
I'm wearing: The Fifth tank (on sale!) from Revolve, Missguided white denim shorts, Ace of Something hat from Shopbop, Oscar Wylee sunglasses, vintage belt, Status Anxiety wallet, Pushmataaha cuff, Coordinates Collection cuff and Forever New sandals.
A huge thank you to Lifestyle Retreats for hosting us.
