Our home away from home with The Asia Collective.

Words truly cannot express how much both Brad and I fell head-over-heels for Melali Bingin, a boutique hotel in beautiful Bali. Let's just say, there's a reason it only has 5/5 stars and raving reviews on TripAdvisor.

So, today I wanted to share with you 8 Reasons You Have to Stay at Melali Bingin because, well, it's just that good.

1. The special homely feeling.

There's a reason we're already itching to get back here and it has everything to do with that special homely feeling we've only ever experienced here when on the road. It's like a big warm hug that screams 'welcome home'; it's familiar and filled with love. Ah yes, it's a rare feeling to have when travelling and you really must experience it yourself, especially if you're a homebody like me.

1. The peace and quiet.

Melali Bingin only has one villa and two suites, which means at maximum capacity, you'll only ever be sharing it with two other couples (now that's my idea of peace and quiet!). Located at the end of a quiet local road, the hotel is surrounded by farm land, so the only thing that'll wake you up is the cock-a-doodle-do of a rooster.

3. The beautiful pool.

The first thing I noticed as soon as we arrived at Melali is the huge turquoise pool, who's sparkling waters only urge you to take a refreshing dip (oh okay, if I must!). There's a few sun loungers around too, so if your idea of a holiday is relaxing by the pool all day, then by all means, take up residence here. Be warned though, you won't want to leave. Ever.

4. The lush gardens.

Melali is covered with beautiful lush greenery, making it a stunning oasis retreat that would be the envy of any landscaper. Surrounding the main pool area is a perfectly manicured lawn, tall palm trees and bright tropical flowering plants. It's the perfect escape.

5. The friendly service.

The home away from home feeling is just an extension of the genuinely friendly service provided by everyone at Melali Bingin. Whether you're after some local tips, want to rent a scooter (the best way to get around here, by the way) or want to order a freshly made juice, the lovely owners and staff members are always there to help. They're always there to make sure your experience in Bingin is the most enjoyable possible.

6. The delicious breakfasts.

If mouth-wateringly delicious breakfasts are your thing, then you'll look forward to every morning at Melali, just as we did. Fresh, organic and healthy, the menu will have you wanting to try absolutely everything during your stay. I mean, c'mon, even the coffee was good, and that's saying something!

7. The amazing location.

Bingin is by far our favourite area of Bali for its quiet streets, breathtaking coastal landscape and stunning beaches. While the boutique hotel is walking distance to Bingin Beach, I'd highly recommend renting a scooter if you're confident to ride (thankfully, Brad was!) and exploring the surrounding area as well. It's incredibly close to the famous beaches of Uluwatu Padang Padang, as well as amazing dining, cafes and beach clubs. You could never get bored here.

8. The world-class surf.

Bingin Beach is one of the most world renown surf breaks in Bali, so chances are if you surf, then it's on your bucket list. If you're not much of a surfer though (ahem, me), then the beach is dotted with beach huts and local warungs, and they don't just offer shade from the hot sun, but also food and drinks. So, whether you're swimming, surfing or spectating, there's something here for everyone.

What I wouldn't do to be back at Melali Bingin!
