5 Lipsticks to Celebrate the Arrival of Spring
From the sheer to the bold, these are the shades I'll be wearing this season.
Spring has officially sprung in Australia, and my goodness, what a gloriously sunshine-filled couple of days it has been! And while it doesn't seem to be warming up any time soon, I'm not going to let that stop my celebrations.
One of my favourite things about this time of the year is mixing up my beauty bag with injections of colour, and of course, there's no better way to do so than with some new lip shades.
It will come as no surprise that Clinique have been my go-to lately, with their Pop Lip collection being among my most loved lippies. So, today I'm sharing with you five Clinique Pop Lip lipsticks I'm loving to celebrate the arrival of spring (and hopefully some perfectly warm weather very soon!).
1. Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer in Kiss Pop
[Above.] It's the original Pop Lip, the one that had me at hello, and the one that I keep going back to time and time again. Not one to shy away from bright lipsticks colours, this season I'm loving the super bright and punchy hot pink shade, Kiss Pop.
Staying true to its ultra smooth, hydrating and pigmented formula, this hot pink lipstick is perfect for both day and night; whether you're pairing it with an understated winged liner or a dramatic smokey eye. Either way, it's sure to turn heads in the best possible way.
2. Clinique Pop Lip Lacquer in Wink Pop
[Right.] I don't know what it is, but I'm really into high-shine lips right now, and the new Clinique Pop Lip Lacquer is all that and so much more. Wink Pop is a beautiful nude shade with a hint of pink that is my current go-to everyday gloss. Not only does it feel comfortable on the lips all day long, but it also gives the illusion of a plumper pout thanks to its shiny liquid finish, a favourite never-fail beauty trick (don't mind if I do!).
I've also been layering the Pop Lip Lacquer over the new Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer in Blushing Pop for a deeper, more amped up look that is still very wearable.
3. Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer in Ruby Pop
[Above.] Ah yes, the mandatory classic red lipstick that is a must-have in any beauty bag, but it's always a challenge choosing the right shade for you, let alone between seasons. In winter, I tend to go for blue-based and, in summer, yellow-based reds (go figure!).
So, I suppose it comes as no surprise that I'm loving the shade Ruby Pop at the moment, which is as neutral as a red can be; it's neither cool nor warm. And even better yet, it comes in Clinique's new Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primerformula, which is a super creamy and non-drying matte finish.
4. Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour + Primer in Sweetheart Pop
[Left.] I'm just putting it out there, but I think Sweetheart Pop is one of my favourite dark pink shades ever. Sure, it's pink, but it's also got attitude, which I absolutely love in a lipstick. It's deep and dark and velvety and everything you could want in a matte lipstick. Oh, except that it's actually a liquid lipstick, which totally adds to the appeal (who else is loving liquid formulas right now?).
The Clinique Pop Liquid Lip Colour + Primer is one of the best liquid lipsticks I've actually ever tried and tested. The colour is unbelievably saturated and long wearing, not to mention the fact that it feels amazing on too.
5. Clinique Pop Oil Lip + Cheek Glow in Poppy Glow
[Below.] Last, but not least, is the multi-use Pop Oil Lip + Cheek Glow, which is dewy and sheer, making it a great addition to your makeup bag for spring. The shade Poppy Glow adds a healthy tint of colour to your lips and cheeks that is easily blend-able and very flattering, especially when you want to warm things up a bit, complexion wise.
