My Revamped Day and Night Skincare Routine

With the skin experts, Mademoiselle Skin Boutique.

After years of struggling with the ups and mostly downs of my skin during my mid-twenties, I finally decided to do something about it. Don't get me wrong, I adored the skincare I had been using, but it was becoming more and more apparent that it just wasn't effective enough on my seemingly problematic skin.

It was time to change my routine and seriously invest in some TLC, and after a lot of research, I couldn't think of anyone better to help me than Mademoiselle Skin Boutique, based right here in Perth. And so, a month ago I found myself walking out of my initial consultation with Rachael, who I would soon learn is the Queen of Skin [insert hands in the air emoji here], with a big smile on my face. Alas, it was the first time I'd been this excited about my skin possibly ever. I had a very good feeling that this was simply going to work.

That very night, I began my brand spankin' new DMK skincare routine, customised just for me by Rachael. Now, don't get me wrong, it's quite a lengthy regime, but healthy skin takes time and dedication. In fact, the very next morning I woke up with glowing skin (to my utter shock and delight!) and within a just a few days Brad was already commenting on how amazing it looked. Needless to say, I was sold within the week.

So, today I wanted to share with you my revamped at-home day and night skincare routine with Mademoiselle Skin Boutique.

Step 1. My skincare always begins with one thing; the DMK Deep Pore Pure Facial Cleanser. Using just a pea sized amount day and night, the foaming cleanser gets rid of impurities and contains antibacterial ingredients, without drying the skin.

Step 2. After a fortnight using DMK, Rachael added the DMK Pore Reduction Plus, which 'tightens and refines open pores'.

Step 3. Then I apply a pump of both the DMK Beta Gel Hydrating Serum and Direct Delivery Vitamin C onto my fingers, and lightly massage it into my face and neck. The Beta Gel triggers not just skin healing, but also reduces redness, swelling and inflammation. The Direct Delivery Vitamin C Antioxidant Serum is all about revising the appearance of 'fine lines, pigmentation, scarring, uneven skin tone and texture' - I won't say no!

Step 4. To help eliminate acne and prevent breakouts, I then apply a very thin layer of the DMK ACU-KLEAR to any affected areas. You wouldn't believe how well this stuff works. Severe and painful hormonal breakouts, be gone!

Step 5. I have to say, this is probably my favourite step in my new skincare routine. I apply the six drops of the DMK Herbal Pigment Skin Softening Oilto my face and neck, mist on the Herb & Mineral Moisture Spray, and massage it into my face. The rich Herbal Pigment Oil has already softened my pigmentation over the past month with the help of the Mist, which assists in the absorption of DMK products as well as adding additional hydration. I can just image what its potential is over a 6-months and beyond.

Step 6. Using a cotton bud, I apply the tiniest amount of the DMK Acu Crème to my face, again with the help of the Herb & Mineral Moisture Spray.

Step 7. The last step in my lengthy day-to-day skincare routine is to apply a thin layer of the Solar Damage Soothing Moisture Gel, which essentially works as a barrier so that the skincare can work to its highest capacity.

If there's one thing I've learned over the last month or so, it's that the journey to 'perfect skin' is an ongoing process, but an exciting one. Within just a month, I've seen a vast improvement in my skin, despite the fact that I've been travelling consistently for work (almost 20 hours up in the air!).

While I still experience hormonal breakouts, they're no where near as severe as they once were, and my skin is glowing like it hasn't before, with less pigmentation and redness. Needless to say, I truly cannot wait to see what my skin looks like after just 6-months in the care of MSB.

Over the coming months, I'm going to be sharing with you just about everything when it comes to my skin journey with Mademoiselle Skin Boutique, from my fortnightly treatments, at home care and lifestyle changes.
