Enjoying My Own Home Town with Marks & Spencer
Life. Spend it well.
We've been fortunate enough to be traveling a lot in recent months, but as a self-confessed homebody, sometimes all you need is to enjoy your own hometown. For me, there's nothing quite like that feeling of being home, and travel just reiterates that. While 'living life to the fullest' can mean exploring the world, I believe you can also do it by just embracing every moment, no matter how small, and enjoying the beauty of life.
After one of the busiest weeks in the office, including too many late nights and early mornings, it was wonderful to be able to take a morning and play tourist in our own town. Dressed in head-to-toe Marks and Spencer, Brad and I wandered around the charming Fremantle wharf, taking photos as we went and simply enjoying each others company.
It was a crisp winters morning, so I made sure to wear warm layers, including my favourite new long sleeve knit with a tie cuff detail. Over the top, I donned a classic trench coat, scarf and the patterned bag of my dreams (how pretty is it?!). Of course, no outfit is complete without the staples; a pair of the best fitting straight leg jeans and comfy mule slides. Oh yes, you can expect to see this outfit repeated over the coming cool months.
It was today that really made me realised how exhausted I have been (the little sleep doesn't sit well with me - parents, I don't know how you do it!). I really needed to spend a carefree moment with my loved ones and enjoy wandering around our beautiful city, and in one of my favourite winter outfits to date. And you know what? It felt so good.
As if that wasn't enough already, my beautiful parents came to visit us afterwards for a coffee and catch-up too. Now that is what really matters. It's about the small things; spending time with loved ones, lighting the candle, wearing your favourite clothes (that make you feel amazing!) and embracing every moment by focussing on what really matters.
