The Best Ways to Waste Time with Cluse
Because sometimes the most productive thing to do is nothing at all.
We're all taught to live life to the fullest and not waste our precious time, but perhaps wasted time doesn't have to be discarded as useless. In fact, if we're continuously pushing ourselves to do more, see more, experience more, achieve more, then aren't we just burning ourselves up? Whenever my life is go-go-gowithout a moment to rest, everything I do is just a little bit less.
From June to August, I found myself travelling every week; down south, over east, internationally. And you know what? I was so exhausted pushing myself to keep up with running a business on-the-go that I found it near impossible to truly enjoy each incredible moment (almost).
It was then that I truly felt like I understood the importance of slowing down and, sometimes, simply doing nothing at all. As it turns out, 'wasting' time can be the most productive thing you can do. After all, a well rested mind is a healthy and active mind, and it's then that the possibilities are endless. I've teamed up with Cluse to share with you my favourite ways to celebrate 'wasted' time, but doing almost nothing at all.
1. Smell the roses. Literally. How many times have you bought a beautiful bouquet of flowers and not taken the time to enjoy their stunning fragrance?
2. Lay in bed. You know that moment between your alarm and getting up in the morning? Feel the comfort, warmth of the blankets and your first stretch of the day, and keep a notebook handy - you never know what will come to mind!
3. Enjoy your morning coffee. I can't remember the last time I actually sat down and simply had a coffee. I'm always rushing out the door, catching up on emails or on-the-go, but there's not much better than enjoying the rich aroma and delicious taste before starting the day.
4. Admire your shoe collection. Surely I'm not the only one who does this from time-to-time? There's something about spending time in my wardrobe and reorganising my shoe rack that kind of just makes me happy.
5. Paint your nails. Take the moments between coats to daydream (and admire your favourite Cluse watch!).
6. Run yourself a bath. And watch a bath bomb fizzle into a bright pattern or turn the water to your favourite hue.
7. Play with your fur baby. Any time with our pets are time well spent, and playing with them just makes you feel good, doesn't it?
What are your favourite ways to 'waste' time and relax? I'd love to know!
