Pink, Plaid and CLUSE in the Springtime
If you can’t tell by now, I just love being home at this time of the year. It’s springtime and the flowers are in full bloom, decorating our city with colourful splotches of almost every shade. Despite the sporadic weather (one day it’s beautiful blue skies, the next thunderstorms), spring is the by far the prettiest of seasons, so we set out to really enjoy the best of it at Araluen Botanic Park in the Perth Hills.
As it’s been raining here lots – in fact, I can’t remember a time we ever got this much rainfall – we just missed out on the very short tulip season, but the rest of the park was truly alive. Bees buzzed over the spectacular rose bushes and ducklings followed their parents across the rolling green lawns. Needless to say, I was gushing over how cute their baby waddles were until their parents decided to set upon our ankles, despite not coming close to their ducklings. Thankfully, humans and ducks were on their merry way before contact was made (and I continued to look like the heart-eyed emoji 😍 over the adorable little ducklings).
In spite of the sunshine, it was actually a crisp morning, so I rugged up in some of my favourite pieces; a cosy knit with a pink corduroy jacket and my fabulous new plaid trousers. I also layered a couple of fine gold bracelets with my CLUSE La Garçonne watch in the gold and black leather combination. Their newest La Garçonne collection is probably my most-loved yet, having first fallen head-over-heels for the gold mesh version when it came out earlier this year. What can I say? There’s something about the elegant square style that makes me all giddy inside.
This spring I’ve been wearing the original gold mesh style, the cosy butterscotch and rose gold combination, and now the chic gold and black leather model on repeat; swapping between the three colour ways day by day.
I’m actually hoping to get back up to Araluen before the end of the season for a picnic lunch and to simply relax by the fragrant blooms. It’s just so beautiful up there, I can’t help myself! Fingers crossed we find a moment to do it before we start travelling again.
We have so much coming up actually, which means it’ll be Christmas before we know it. I just got home from a super quick trip to Melbourne, which no doubt you saw on Instagram (and Insta Stories!), and in a week we’ll be back in Bali for a family holiday. And that is just the beginning of it! Brad and I are obviously very excited to be jetting off again, but also really want to make the most of being home.
And with that said, I’m off to dream of pretty pink roses and reply to the hundreds of emails politely waiting for me in my inbox. Woohoo! Have a fabulous day, my loves!
