NOSTALGIC ENSEMBLE

Certain outfits call on distinct memories and emotions, like a woman connects her bridal gown to her wedding or a graduate connects a dress to the night she received her degree. This particular outfit has an air of nostalgia as I recall my final night in Vancouver, Canada. As soon as I donned the ensemble, both Brad and I became instantaneously sentimental, remembering 'that time' we dined at the fabulous West Restaurant on Granville Street during the Dine Out Vancouver Festival earlier this year. I'm not one to dwell on the past, but I am known to remember the 'good times' on occasion - something I highly recommend to warm your heart.

As a committed lover of fashion other details also come to mind - it was the first time I donned this perfect black-and-white Zara top, despite purchasing it almost a month prior in Toronto. Throughout our travels, I had been patiently waiting for the perfect time to introduce it to the world. For the most part skinny jeans, sweaters and windproof jackets was deemed the appropriate attire (and thermals, layers and layers of thermals). A somewhat dressy top seemed out-of-place after a day of snowboarding in a sub-zero climate, especially when most nights consisted of watching TV in bed or having a drink at the local pub.

If I'd worn the Zara top any sooner, it wouldn't remind me of a romantic night spent with my love at the  conclusion of such a wondrous journey, eating some of the finest produce Canada has to offer and washing it down with an exceptional bottle of imported New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (what can we say, we were craving home!).

PS. Thank you to everyone who recommended DSLRs - Brad and I finally purchased a Canon 600D, with a 50MM lens on its way.
