BLUE ROCK

 

How spectacular is this location! Situated smack-bang in the middle of the Darling Ranges, Blue Rock is the largest rock I've ever seen. Or at least it would be if I hadn't have been surrounded by The Rocky Mountains earlier this year. The difference between the two is that you don't have to be an experienced hiker slash climber slash mountaineer to scale Blue Rock. However, as comfortable as my new Wittner heels are, I would probably recommend a good pair of sneakers (I'll admit that my darling Bradley did indeed have to carry me part of the way like a damsel in distress).

It seems that finally Autumn has finally arrived here in Perth, or at least it has up in the hills. I couldn't believe how cold it was up on Blue Rock in the morning, to the point where I was almost wishing for another light layer. Of course after trekking around on the uneven surface for sometime I warmed up, but I couldn't help wondering where the warmth of the sun had gone. As you know I have been celebrating this cooler weather, which means finally unpacking my Canadian winter wardrobe (minus the thermals) and this biker jacket is no exception. Its killer khaki and leather combination made the purchase choice that much easier. I'd only ever worn it once before this morning, on a chilly night at the French-Canadian ski resort Mont-Tremblant where it acted as another one of my many layers.

If you can't tell by now, I am completely obsessed with Zara. My obsession most likely comes from the fact that I can not attain the brand here in Perth. And while I could rant about its lacking presence here, I actually believe that I admire it so much more because of this 'exclusivity'. In Canada, Brad came to dread every moment I sighted those four oversized serif letters, as he knew he was about to be dragged yet again through every inch of the fast fashion mecca. He has to admit though that despite my excitement, I managed to display a certain level of restraint. Due to this self-control, I ended up with a select well thought-out garments that I know I'll wear constantly until my next visit (most likely Melbourne, hint-hint!).
