AFFINITY WITH PARADISE

I'm sure I'm not the only one who sits desk-bound during the working week only to discover you've been daydreaming for the last half hour about past weekend festivities. I've literally 'wasted' (and I use the term loosely) a portion of my morning flicking through the photos I took whilst on a ladies road trip to Ferguson Valley last weekend with my two besties. As we ventured south, the landscape changed dramatically from dry and flat farm land to a paradise of rolling green hills and perfect blue skies. To be honest, before this trip I had no idea that this pocket of land existed so close to home. It reminded me somewhat of the lush Victorian landscape, minus the mountains (of which Brad and I will be exploring come September).

I felt an instantaneous affinity with these serene surroundings and even fantasised about myself living here, with massive windows overlooking the tranquil scenery - you know, 'bringing nature inside'. But could I ever sacrifice the convenience and ease of the 'burbs? Knowing that country-bumpkin Brad (kidding, kind of) wouldn't think twice about it, perhaps someday we'll turn our backs on the hustle and bustle of Perth. And my goodness, how I won't miss the horrendous Freeway traffic!

For the mean time however, these little escapes the the country and beyond will remain weekend treats, hopefully not too far and few. Oh, and preferably avoiding Gnomesville - once was enough - but more on that later.
