SERENITY BEYOND GNOMESVILLE

When Brooke suggested a road trip all I could manage in reply was a big fat 'hell yes!' - after all, who says no to a road trip? And while I visualised an outing encompassing the lush countryside of the South West, before I knew it we were on our merry little way to Gnomesville (no, not your ordinary destination). It was as bizarre and uncanny as it sounds - a village occupied by thousands upon thousands of gnomes as far as the eye can see (I kid you not, see proof here). Although I thoroughly enjoyed the many imaginative 'gnome puns', I couldn't help but think that I really wanted to get out of here before the sun set. Yep, I was spooked, but can you blame me? One can only dream the shenanigans these gnomes get up to after dark!

However, I couldn't help but be blown away by the tranquility beyond the 'township'. As it approached mid-afternoon the sun cast a beautiful warm light through the forest, which was made even more spectacular by the forests' long contrasting shadows. I managed to convince the ladies to trek a little further than Gnomesville (though the gnomes were still present, often hiding amongst the trees) to take a few snaps of my road trip outfit. A combination of my staple Noboby jeans, warm parka and bag stocked full of goodies made for a perfect road trip ensemble, being both super casual and comfortable.

And while I doubt a trip to Gnomesville will be on the cards in the near future, I have to thank those dear little gnomes for putting a massive smile on all of our faces.
