AN ICELESS KANAZAWA

Before boarding yet another Shinkansen, Brad and I took these photographs outside the majestic Kanazawa JR Station on a freezing cold morning. We were delighted that the city was snow free; it was the first time we could walk without almost slipping over on hard ice in weeks, despite the fact that we've both mastered the non-slip snow slash ice walk (you know, none of this heel-toe action).

While the journey only takes just over two hours, I was definitely dressing for comfort. Now, don't judge me by my leather pants; they're surprisingly one of the comfiest pair of pants in my wardrobe. An oversized chunky knit, throw over black coat, Chelsea boots and thermals (non-negotiable) complete my passenger look, along with my Samsonite luggage.

It's outfits like these that make me excited for the approaching Australian winter, not that I'm happy about saying goodbye to our beautiful warm weather. We'll be jetting off again soon for an exciting project abroad; think tropical - a last hoorah for summer.
