Osaka Travel Diary
There is one thing we continued to hear throughout Japan: people are happier in Osaka. Having spent some time in the city myself, we now know why. It comes down to just one simple thing. It's the food. There is absolutely no denying that Osaka is a cornucopia of fantastic food. We enjoyed tapas and sangria at Tucusi Tapas & Charcoal Grill (the Japanese are crazy about spanish food!), takeaway waffles at Manneken, and the most scrumptious dumplings ever at vending machine cafe, Kamakura Soup with Noodles. A lot of people were asking why we were eating anything other than Japanese cuisine, but the truth is, the food in general is of such a high quality in Japan that we couldn't limit ourselves. After all, you don't come to Australia and only eat Vegemite sandwiches.
We spent our time in Osaka exploring the beautiful grounds of Osaka Castle, shopping up a storm at the famous (and crazy busy) Shinsaibashi-suji, wandering amongst the neon-lit Dôtombori Arcade and putting on a few more kilos. It was truly the perfect way to end such an incredible trip, full of rich culture, enviable food, lovely people and freezing cold weather.
