Singapore Travel Diary
It's oh-so true that both Brad and I fell head-over-heels for Singapore during our short stay. We really could have spent a few more weeks/months there and not get bored, though we probably would have put on a few more kilos, which we did anyway in Japan. We were awed by this vibrant city, in all of its lush greenery contrasting the expanding concrete jungle that it is. Thousands of palm trees and ever blooming flowers lined each street, somehow making me feel quite at home. I surprisingly welcomed the tropical climate, as we'd struck gold with the weather.
On our first full day, we decided to walk from ParkRoyal on Pickering to Marina Bay and up to Orchard Road (where I displayed an admiral level of self restraint, thank you very much), with lots of unexpected pit stops along the way. That is the beauty of a city like Singapore, you just walk. Walk anywhere. Walk without a map. Walk and you'll truly discover the city and its many hidden delights.
So, umm, who else is watching the Academy Awards right now? I for one am keeping my fingers crossed for the brilliant Matthew McConaughey for Best Actor in a Leading Role because, well, he is simply a first class actor (excluding his array of romantic comedies, duh). And you'd know this if you'd seen A Time to Kill and The Lincoln Lawyer (yes, he's one hell of an attorney). Yep, I feel like I'm cheating on Leo right now.
