How To Style A Printed Blouse With Cooper St

Styling 101.

________

One of the most frequently asked questions I've recieved recently is how I style an outfit, from my lovely readers and followers, but also friends and family. Truth be told, it's a lot easier than it may first appear. I always begin with one specific piece, such as an accessory, a pair of pants or, in this case, a printed blouse from Cooper St. The two most important things to keep in mind when building an outfit is colour and texture.

There are a few different colours I could have styled the Cooper St blouse with, but your best bet is to save a penny or two by using items you've already got in your wardrobe. I decided to make a statement by emphasising the blue in the top with my favourite cobalt coat (who knew such a bold piece could be so versatile?) and my new fabulous pointed wedges from Boohoo.com (a bargain at $40!).

When it comes to texture, I tend to usually either match with an identical fabric or something completely different. This also depends where and when you're wearing your chosen piece. For example, I could style the Cooper St blouse with a pair of skinny blue denim jeans for a casual daytime look or tucked in to a high-waisted midi skirt for a romantic date night. But, staying true to my style, I offset the soft fabric of the blouse with a flared leather skirt and my go-to black tote.

Honestly, there are a million ways you can wear pieces, with most being more versatile than you think. The possibilities are endless as you learn how to dress-up and dress-down garments that you may have preconceived as being one or the other. If you're not quite sure how to style an outfit, choose one thing and build it from there.
