L Hotel Seminyak: Breakfast at Lola

As you know, I'm prone to judging an establishment by its coffee, but I'll admit it's the food that keeps me coming back for more. Lola Restaurant, just a small flight of stairs on the mezzanine above the L Hotel lobby, disappoints in neither coffee nor cuisine. With a personality of its own, as expected from the extravagance of L Hotel, Lola offers much and more when it comes to a dining experience.
Brad and I took advantage of the intimate Love Corner setting by the brilliantly lit pool, which features a striking waterfall table to make your experience just that touch more unique. Of course, there is no doubting the tropical Balinese location with the restaurant encompassed by a series lush green walls. Truth be told, I could spend every morning relaxing in one of those cosy high-back armchairs with a delicious mug of freshly brewed coffee, just the way I like it.
Shortly after our cappuccinos arrive, we're treated to a homely paper bag filled with baked goods and two small drinks as a booster (one of which was definitely not to our liking, but hey, it's all in the experience, right?) before we started our hectic day of lounging, dining and shopping. Back at home, this alone would have filled my breakfast needs significantly, but we're on holiday so it's only logical to eat ourselves silly. Don't tell me you disagree. Before we know it, the breakfast spread to end all breakfast spreads appears before us on our private waterfall table; french toast, omelette, bacon, sausages, hash browns and fresh tropical fruit, with all ingredients locally sourced.
As you probably expect, we could have easily fallen into a food coma post-breakfast if not for the busy day of photo shoots ahead (ah, the tough life). Thank goodness I was wearing my new favourite shift dress from Toi et Moi to cover my food baby; definitely intentional. Certainly, if time isn't an issue (as it shouldn't be when on vacation), simply strip down into your favourite bikini and dive into the pool straight from your dining table; because hey, why not?
