Style Competition: Summer Luxury by the Water

It’s high time that I shared with you my summer by the water shoot alongside ROC sunglasses, August Street, Pink Stitch and The Luxe Nomad for their very first style competition. Shot earlier in the week in Sydney, I really wanted to style a luxurious coastal outfit with a pair of über cool shades (who doesn’t need a little ‘cool factor’ by the beach?), proving that summer at the coast isn’t all denim cut-offs and oversized tees. Heck, it can be yachts and beach clubs and seaside dining, right? I mean, who wouldn't want to celebrate our perfect Aussie summers decked out in stylish threads?

For my luxe look, I couldn’t help but style these amazing wide-legged August Street pants I’ve had my eye on since my last Sydney visit (yep, I’ve been crushing big time). Usually one to avoid a pant on a hot day, these easy-breezy alternatives are my new hot weather favourites, especially for when I haven’t had time to top up my tan (guilty!). Paired with a pop of August Street colour, tucked-in to emphasise my lengthened legs, this is one of the most flattering yet comfortable looks I’ve worn in some time. And while a heel is a must to further emphasise said ‘long’ legs, I wouldn’t go passed a wedge or block heel for added practicality.

Choosing a pair of ROC 'Cruz' shades was far more difficult, with my wish list spanning their whole collection (I already have a few!). And while I’m usually a black-on-black or white-on-white kinda’ gal, the matte beige pair were truly made for a stylish day by the sea (although technically we were still by the Harbour). Finishing off the water-side look with what seems to be my colour of choice these day, the sleek gold jewellery really adds a little more ‘summer’ to the outfit.

As I’m currently flying high above Newcastle on my way to Brisbane, I can’t help but wish to spend just one more moment sipping on a fresh juice at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel under the warm summer sun. I’m sure you won’t argue when I say that summer days were simply meant to be spent on the water. Quite frankly, if it were up to me, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
