Transeasonal Styling with Staple the Label

Let me describe what autumn in Perth, Western Australia, means.

________

For the most part, the weather couldn't get better. It's not too hot and not too cold; it's just perfect. As we move towards winter though, the mornings become crisper despite the clear blue skies and warm sunshine. And, yes, every once in a while we get to enjoy some much needed rain.

The warm days, cool mornings and odd downpour call for some very strategic transeasonal dressing. To me, that means being able to pull together an outfit that will serve you no matter what the weather brings, which is why I couldn't help but choose the classic Duster Coat to style for the Staple the Label Style Challenge. While I'm a big advocate for the Lilac Trench Coat, I have a huge soft spot for the monochrome grid print right now.

To me, the lightweight Duster Coat has endless styling possibilities, whether it's hot or cold or in-between. It's the epitome of an effortless piece, from wearing it draped over the shoulders, with sleeves rolled up or layered over a thick knit or leather biker jacket. I styled it with two of my favourite trends of the season; a super high neck (that's right ladies, the turtle neck is back in a big way!) and luxurious khaki.

So you know, don't be surprised if you see me running around all the way through to spring with the Staple the Label Duster Coat practically glued to my back. There's something so effortless and chic about the Duster, yet super comfy. It can be dressed up, dressed down, styled for cold weather, wet weather or a sunny day. I guess you could say it goes beyond being transeasonal; it's a classic and diverse wardrobe basic.

A huge thank you to Staple the Label, The Minimalist, Naked Vice and QT Gold Coast for inspiring me to style a super sleek transeasonal look (yep, this one is going to be an outfit repeater!).
