My 10 Favourite Things To Do in Winter

2. Drink mulled wine or hot apple cider. I still remember the first time I had mulled wine. They were giving cups of the delicious stuff out at Coronet Peak in New Zealand after a very long day stacking it (yes, it was my very first day of snowboarding and most certainly not my last), and it was exactly what I needed.
3. Go iceskating. Even here in Perth you can go iceskating. I mean, it's not a picturesque frozen lake surrounded by snow or anything fancy, but it's still damn fun and as magical as our Perth winters get, considering it doesn't really get that cold.
4. Pamper session. And if you'd prefer to use the weather as an excuse to stay inside and relax, then there's no better way to do it than a pamper session. Think facials, hot baths, manicures and pedicures, and chocolate (always!).
5. Read a book in front of a fireplace. I miss having a fireplace, but I sure do love snuggling up to a good book on a chilly night.
6. Cook a homemade pumpkin soup. Well, it's not the cooking part I personally enjoy, but I sure do love sipping on hot and steamy pumpkin soup!
7. Go for a hike. Or a jog or walk or whatever. Just get outside and enjoy the cool days and the warm(isn) sunshine. That's part of the beauty of Aussie winters; the weather is pretty damn good, so we should enjoy it until we're all complaining that it's too hot.
8. Movie marathon. Not restricted to, of course. I mean, hello, Game of Thrones! Seriously though, how flipping good is it? I just want the next book to launch.
9. Plan a winter escape. Or a summer escape. Whichever floats your boat. Whether it's shredding the slopes of Queenstown or soaking up the rays in Boracay, there's nothing better than jumping on a plane and flying to your own little paradise.
10. Treat yourself to a spot of retail therapy. The weather this weekend has been somewhat average, so I went shopping this morning at Karrinyup Shopping Centre to escape the rain and try my hand at some winter layering (how amazing is this grid print coat from Dotti?!).
