2 Brushes that Changed My Makeup Forever

My (not-so) secret to achieving flawless skin .
________

I'm not an impulse buyer. I will spend weeks or even months deliberating a purchase because I want to know I've made the right choice and that I'll actually use it (aka. not regret spending those hard earned dollars). Even things I actually do need to stock up on, like a tube of Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation (did I just read that the original has been discontinued!?), which I ran out of months and months ago, will take me a while to actually add to cart (I really want to try the Tinted Moisturiser too).

I finally made the plunge a month or so ago and, before I knew it, I was swiping my card for a dozen new Real Techniques makeup brushes (you win this round, Priceline). So, how the heck was someone like me convinced? Let's just say that my new addiction to YouTube beauty vloggers had me convinced some time ago and I wanted to find the perfect tool after years of using a sponge. After doing a little more research and discovering only raving reviews, I had decided on purchasing the Real Techniques Expert Face BrushYour Base Flawless Core Collection pack, Retractable Kabuki Brush, Your Finish Perfected Stippling Brush and Your Eyes Enhanced Starter Set. While all brushes have remained a crucial part of my makeup routine since I've had them, the Expert Face Brush and Buffing Brush are the two standouts that I really couldn't be without.

So, let's start with the Expert Face Brush, which is quite a dense, firm brush that remains soft, which is perfect for application and blending of anything liquid, cream or powder. I say anything because I quite literally use it to apply my liquid foundation (especially when I want a little more coverage), cream and powder blushes, liquid illuminator and even my concealer (I lightly dab it over the areas in which I've applied it). It applies and blends any product so effortlessly and flawlessly. It is seriously that good and I couldn't recommend this product more - worth every penny!

The Buffing Brush (available in the Flawless Core Collection) is actually recommended for powder and mineral foundations, but since I'd seen almost every lady on YouTube use it for liquid formulas, I thought I'd try it too. Needless to say, I was not disappointed, not in the very least. It gives a truly flawless finish with all of my usual liquid foundations, BB creams and tinted moisturisers, as well as blending easily under my jawline and covering hard-to-reach nooks like around my nose.

I think it's fair to say that the days of the sponge have been made extinct (well, aside from my Beauty Blender) and those of Real Techniques are here to stay.
