How to Look Like a Morning Person

Even when you're not.
________

I'm actually one of those strange 'morning people'. I naturally wake up early (yes, even during winter) and only ever sleep-in on the weekends, and even then it's only till 8:30AM at latest. I am always the most productive during the AM; it's when my mind has clarity and is at its most creative. Yet despite all this I rarely, if ever, actually look like a morning person. I wake up with puffy eyes, pillow marks dented into the side of my face and dull looking skin (if I haven't applied my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Nighttime Miracle Moisturiser). So, here are my favourite products that help me actually look like a morning person.

First things first, it's time to plump up that under eye area with the Sephora Pomegranate Eye Mask, which reduces the signs that we didn't get out 8-hours; less puffy, more moisturised and visibly more awake. They're super easy to use and I'm a bit sad that I just used up my last one, especially since the closet Sephora is about 4000 km's away (waaah). If you don't have a spare 15-minutes, The Body Shop Pomegranate Firming & Refreshing Eye Roll-On is a super quick and effective alternative.

The Want Glowing Skin Pure Active Vitamin C Super Serum is a really great way to add a beautiful natural glow to your skin each morning. Simply pressing and patting a small amount onto my face and neck makes my skin look so much more radiant and not like I just woke up after pressing snooze a few too many times.

I've really been into mixing my foundations with other products at the moment and the ModelCo Skin Highlighter is a dreamy product to not only mix with my usual Arbonne Sheer Finish Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 or the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfectly Satin 24HR Foundation (depending on the coverage I need), but also to add illumination to my cheekbones, tip of my nose and cupids bow. The Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer has become another go-to product of late for highlighting, particularly under the eye area, thanks to its anti-fatigued effect. It's no secret that I love the Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in 02 Robust Rhubarb, especially because its creamy texture creates the perfect I-just-went-for-a-run flush (now that's what I call a morning person!).

The final steps to brightening those eyes is with lashings of the Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara and curling them with the ModelCo Turbo Lash Wand Heated Eyelash Curler (best used after applying mascara). There's really nothing like long, curled lashes to really open eyes! I just purchased the Maybelline Big Eyes Liner and I have a feeling the white liner is going to be added to this list.

I always like to apply lots of my favourite Mecca Cosmetica Lip De Luscious gloss as well and give my hair that extra oomph with another new favourite, the Toni & Guy Glamour Dry Shampoo.

All this, of course, while sipping on a delicious cup of coffee.
