Summer at the Beach in Winter

I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend so far. I'm currently watching the AFL Western Derby with Brad (he goes for the Dockers, I go for the Eagles). Both teams are currently #1 and #2 on the ladder respectively, so it should be a really good game. Go Eagles (who are currently winning right now)! I do love a bit of footy! Anyway, this week has seen some truly amazing, a lot of new beauty goodies arrive in the mail and more house progress.

1. The warm weather is back, though probably not for too long, you know, with it being actually winter and all. I've thoroughly enjoyed getting my legs out this weekend and spending a little time at the beach (well, as much as possible anyway). Even now as I type though, a wisp of clouds is beginning to cover the sky. After all, it's just a cheeky sneak peek at what's to come throughout spring and, my goodness, I cannot wait.

2. Concrete and ash wood pendant lights. We finally got our new amazing pendant lights installed in our kitchen! Who would have thought I'd ever get so excited over lighting? I am beyond happy with the way our new kitchen has turned out. Now all I need to do is find the perfect breakfast chairs (we're looking for light wood stools - what do you think of Tractor Counter Stools?), and a few little decorative bits and pieces. We also have one of these window splash backs, so we're going to create a thick green jungle outside it. Just thinking about it makes me happy!

3. Charlotte Tilbury Australia has been launched! I have been crushing over everything by Charlotte Tilbury for a long time, so I just knew I had to get my hands on some of her amazing products as soon as I heard they were launched here a month or so ago. Needless to say, when the box of goodies arrived on my doorstep, I was ecstatic. I am the most excited to try the Eyes To Memorise Long-Lasting Colour Cream Eyeshow in Bette, the Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencil in Champagne Diamonds and the Cheek To Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in First Love. 4. New Sigma brushes delivery. As I get more and more into beauty and, in particular, makeup, I finally understand why makeup artists and beauty vloggers have so many brushes. It seems my own brush collection is growing quite a bit recently, which means I'm finally able to replace the old, bad quality brushes that leave me with bristles all over my face and irritated skin. I cannot wait to try some new looks with the Sigma Basic Eyes Kit very soon, and also spend an hour or so cleaning my collection with the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove. I also got a few other bits and pieces. I can't wait to show you!

5. Dinner with my family. Saving best till last, Brad and I were finally about to catch-up with my family during the week. With everyone travelling, working, studying and/or living their own lives, it has been pretty difficult for us all to get together at the same time. We're such a close family, so it's always special to catch-up the only way we know how to; over good food and wine.
