My Favourite Desk Side Beauty Essential

The one that trumps lip balms, concealers and even facial mists.

Many a beauty product has graced the likes of my desk over the years, some that were being trailed and tested for upcoming articles, and others that were permanent fixtures to help me get through each work day glowing. Lip balms have always had their place to keep my lips hydrated, glosses and lipsticks to top up colour and shine, a convenient concealer stick for touch-ups throughout the day, and a facial mist for nourishment and refreshment.

For quite some time now, all of these have been trumped by another though; the hand cream. I always thought hand creams were for 'old people', and even if they actually are, count me old because I am addicted. I currently have three (yes, three) on rotation after finishing the Dermalogica Multivitamin Hand & Nail Treatment Cream in record time. I've also gone through a couple of the Grown Alchemist Vanilla & Orange Peel Hand Cream and, as you can see, I'm fast finishing my third tube (it's just too damn good!).

I've also been raving on about the Coconut Revolution Coconut Hand Cream in Thai Jasmine for a while now, which has made many an appearance in a flatlay over on Instagram. The best thing about it is that it sinks into the skin after just a couple of minutes, unlike so many hand creams that tend to be a little greasy after application. I even have a mini tube for when I'm travelling too.

The most recent addition is the Jurlique Limited Edition Precious Rose Hand Cream, which I first mentioned in this beauty haul unboxing video. It turns out it doesn't just leave hands with a beautiful rose scent all day long, but also works a treat, leaving hands ridiculously soft. Plus, the metallic and matte packaging looks stunning sitting on my desk, which is an essential, of course. Make sure you get your hands on some before it sells out - it's worth it!
