The Spring Fitness Challenge

Becoming the best I can be.
________

As I've mentioned previously, I am not a fitness blogger. It's highly unlikely that I'll ever run a marathon, attempt a triathlon or expertly manoeuvre the yoga crane pose (never say never though, right?). In saying that though, staying fit and healthy has always been a priority for me; something that was instilled in me from a very young age. I actually did gymnastics at a competitive level back the old days, and while I had to spend a lot of time working on my flexibility with my coaches (hello painful!), it was the strength and balance that came easy. Both my brother and I did swimming every week for the majority of our childhood as well, not to mention that most days were spent outside running amuck.

Now days though, I have to purposely set aside time to 'workout' and it can be difficult to fit into my busy schedule. However, I do believe that no matter how busy, it can indeed be done. This winter I've definitely got lazy with my daily workouts (no surprises there), so it just made sense to get back into it now as the weather warms up. I wanted to create my very own personal Spring Fitness Challenge and, by sharing it with you, chances are I'll actually stick with it. Mind over matter, mind over matter.

My Spring Fitness Challenge is simple, which is key when it comes to getting yourself into a daily routine; don't overcomplicate things. I will aim to workout at least 5 days per week, which will be a combination of whatever the heck I feel like doing that day. It could be anything from sprints, jogging or walking to squats, lunges and planking, and the list goes on. It's about doing what I enjoy, changing my lifestyle and feeling flipping amazing.

This just a quick introductory post, but I'll be updating you over the next few months and possibly even beyond with my progress, how I'm feeling and the things that are helping me along the way, so if you have any questions or requests, ask away! More importantly, let me know if you're committing to something like this whether you're coming into spring or autumn/fall!
