Makeup, Manicare, Money and Mindfulness

The weekly round-up.
________

I skipped last weeks weekly round-up, well, because I had just had surgery and really didn't feel like writing about my very unproductive week. This week, though, is completely different story on the productivity side of things. Don't you love a good boost of motivation?

#7DayMakeupChallenge. Now that I'm back into blogging daily again, I figured I may a well go head first and do a 7 Day Makeup Challenge as well where I try at least one new makeup product every day for a whole week. It has been so much fun trying new looks and breaking out of my comfort zone, and, of course, sharing with you my thoughts on each product on Instagram and Facebook (just search the hashtag #7DayMakeupChallenge to see my looks). I still have one more day to go, but then come Monday afternoon, I'll be publishing a more comprehensive review of each product here on the blog (plus never before seen photos!).

Want to know how I created the flatlay above? And all of my flatlays? This week I shared with you a pretty fancy .GIF and my (not-so) secret step-by-step guide to creating a kick-ass flatlay, which I also used to make our morning coffees so damn good for today's blog post image (hehehe). I really enjoyed sharing with you how my flatlays really come together, so if you missed the post, you can read all about the art of flatlaying here.

Money & Mindfulness. The postie may have quite literally thrown the package at my door (nice work Aus Post - nawt!), but I was glad to have it. Actually I was glad it was a book and not some super expensive breakable stuff. Anyway, as an avid reader and business owner, I'm ridiculously excited to read Money & Mindfulness by Lisa Messenger cover-to-cover, especially since business financials are still such a new thing to me. Weirdly enough, it's my first ever Lisa Messenger book, but if flicking through this one is anything to go by, I have a feeling I'll be splurging on the other two very soon as well.

#TodayIAm confident. I know I posted it last week, but I really wanted to highlight the very powerful SS15 campaign, #TodayIAm, by Westfield. As you know from this outfit post, I am very passionate about the message of the campaign, which is essentially to use fashion to be the best we can be, without judgement, stereotyping or stigmas. It's about standing together to empower ourselves and everyone around us to be confident, flaws and all, because I'm only ever going to be me and you're only ever going to be you. It has been a great pleasure reading everyone comments and responses both on the blog post itself and across social media - you guys rock!

Weekend pamper session. I'm hoping that tomorrow I'll get a chance to enjoy a little self pampering (I should schedule it in my diary, huh?). I've been so inspired lately to spend some time giving my body some TLC by brands like Manicare and Natura Siberica, so keep an eye out this weekend, as I'll be sharing my current pamper session routine and the amazing luxe products that help.

I'm currently in my luxurious Homebodii silk robe sitting on the couch with Brad watching One Tree Hill, drinking a delicious coffee out of my favourite pink mug and typing away, so it's probably time I got up and got ready for a busy day running errands and visiting a few best friends (I'm a poet and I didn't even know it).
