The 7 Day Makeup Challenge Round-Up
See what happens when I try a new product everyday for a week!
________
While I've been sharing my thoughts on the @lioninthewild Instagram, I wanted to do a more comprehensive review on the products I wore for the first time, as well as bigger and better images so you can see what they look like (after all, we're all about the visuals here on Lion in the Wild!).

MONDAY: CLINIQUE ALL ABOUT SHADOW 8-PAN PALETTE & MODELCO PARTY PROOF LIPSTICK
I had planned only to trial the lipstick today, yet somehow I found myself finally dabbing my eyeshadow brushes on my Clinique All About Shadow 8-Pan Palette in Wear Everyday Pinks, which I've had since I was contracted with Clinique as an art director and photographer (one of the perks of the job!). I actually real wanted to try a red/burgundy eye look, which seems to be all the rage at the moment, so I focussed on using those shades and the neutral taupe hues. While somehow the look ended up far more purple than I expected, however it was definitely still wearable for an everyday look, plus the shadows applied smoothly with little effort. If you want to see the shadow in better detail with a semi-closed eye, see here.
Then I added another pop of colour with the ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick in Red Velvet, a deep blue-based red with a satin finish. One swipe was all it took to completely saturate my lips with its bold, pigmented hue, though I did use the Sigma Lip Brush to line my lips with precision. Surprisingly, the best thing about the ModelCo Lipstick is not its eye-catching colour, but the long lasting formula that only needed a very slight touch-up after eating and drinking, a big win for everyone that avoids a bold lip on any given day (myself included - no one likes a faded lip).
Needless to say, day 1 the #7DayMakeupChallenge has been a great success, so I'm very much looking forward to the days to come!

TUESDAY: SPORTSGIRL GLOW CREAM EYE AND CHEEK CREAM
It's warm and sunny today, so it was time to bronze things up a little (despite the fact that I haven't applied fake tan in well over a week thanks to the wound on my arm from my surgery - you can see part of the dressing on my left arm in the image above - #gnarly). Sportsgirl is well known for their fab and affordable beauty products here in Australia, but it's the bronzing products that keep me reaching for more each summer. I've been using the Sportsgirl Metallic Body Glow and Bronze Me Bronzing Powder for years.
My recent addiction to cream eyeshadows had me ridiculously excited to try the Sportsgirl Glow Cream Eye & Cheek Cream, especially since it looked so stunning in the pan. The cream was easily picked up by the Sigma Tapered Blending Brush, which I effortlessly blended all over my eyelids, and again, using the Sigma Pencil Brush, under my bottom waterline. It reminded me a lot of the ever magical Charlotte Tilbury Cream Eyeshadow, however as the day has gone on it has creased a fair bit despite using the Urban Decay Primer Potion before application. Next time I'm going to press some powder onto my lids as well, to hopefully help it set more.
In saying that though, the warm metallic colour is absolutely stunning, so I'll definitely be wearing it again soon. Oh, and did I mention it's a multi-purpose cream? I blended a small amount of the Glow Cream on my cheeks and temples with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, which gave me an even warmer glow, like I had just spent the day at the beach (by the way, I did - heh-heh-heh).
________
WEDNESDAY: THE BASE BY LARA BINGLE LB CREAM & EYE OF HORUS TEAL MALACHITE GODDESS PENCIL
I actually wasn't too sure how I'd go with The Base LB Cream since I have it in Honey, the darker shade, and I am quite obviously very pale, as well as the fact that I also haven't fake tanned in ages. In fact, when I first applied it with my fingers, as recommended, it looked pretty ridiculous, but as soon as I started blending it with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush I was pleasantly surprised. It's sheer cover felt hydrating and very comfortable on my skin, and I somehow managed to avoid a horrible foundation line along my jawline (now that is some great blending technique right there!).
Glowing and slightly dewy, I decided that I wanted to brighten the look up even more with some colour. I've been waiting for an excuse to use the Eye of Horus Goddess Pencil in Teal Malachite for ages now and it really did make me feel like a goddess of ancient times. Applied to the inner corners of my eyes and my bottom waterline, the highly pigmented, metallic teal hue is as mesmerising as it is creamy. Worn with one of my all-time favourites, the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Moisturising Lipstick in Coral Crush, this is without a doubt my most colourful beauty look ever.

THURSDAY: SIGMA STANDOUT EYES GEL LINER, SIGMA E05 EYE LINER BRUSH & SIGMA E64 SMALL ANGLE BRUSH
I used to love gel eyeliners. In fact, I never used anything else for most of my university years, but then somehow, along the way, they got left out and left behind in my beauty routine. Thankfully, Sigma has got me right back into them with the Sigma Standout Eyes Gel Liner, which even managed to surprise me with how truly amazing it is (let's just say, I'm back on the gel eyeliner train).
Used with the Sigma E05 Eye Liner Brush and E64 Small Angled Brush (both available in the Sigma Basic Eyes Kit), the application process was ridiculously easy. The Gel Liner is quite a thin consistency for a gel liner, in my experience, and is a dream to apply. The E64 Small Angled Brush makes it so simply to create a stunning eyeliner flick by simply dipping it into the small pot and stamping it onto the eye lid.
Truth be told, I wore it again on Friday and Saturday (yeah, I'm fan-girling hard over this one!).
________
FRIDAY: CLINIQUE POP LIP COLOUR AND PRIMER & CLINIQUE QUICKLINER FOR LIPS
It's finally the weekend, so I thought I would celebrate with a swipe of a bold, dramatic look. I love dark lips and I love the Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer range, so there's no surprise that I adored this new shade (both available at Clinique in early November). It took my look from day-to-night in just minutes, which makes it a great Friday beauty pick. The Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer in Rebel Pop is a deep burgundy colour, but combined with the Clinique Quickliner for Lips in Intense Licorice, the look is, well, intense, but in the best possible way. I mean, it's so sultry and sexy and sensational, as well as being moisturising and long-lasting (aka. perfect for the weekend!). You'll definitely be seeing these two again.
________
SATURDAY: JANE IREDALE PURE PRESSED BLUSH & JANE IREDALE WHITE FAN BRUSH
It's another hot sunny day, the trend of this week, and with a fresh (faux) tan, I wanted to create a sun-kissed look and I was hoping that the Jane Iredale PurePressed Blush in Whisper would give me that flushed look. Applied with the super soft and luxurious Jane Iredale White Fan Brush, the PurePressed Blush was everything it promised and so much more. While the beautiful peachy-pink colour is subtle, it is also buildable, yet somehow always natural.
I'll admit that it is a pretty teeny-tiny compact, which means I wasn't able to get an even amount of powder on the brush in one swipe, but it is still worth every penny because you just can't beat the quality. In fact, this one is going straight into my spring beauty drawer - I'm going to be wearing it a lot over these warmer months.
________
SUNDAY: MODELCO LASH + LINE SUPERLASH MASCARA + LIQUID EYELINER
It's the last day of the Makeup Challenge and the first time I have worn makeup everyday for a week in a long time. In saying that though, I have had an absolute blast discovering new products and have been pleasantly surprised by how consistently good they were. The last product of the Challenge was no different either. The ModelCo Lash + Line SuperLash Mascara + Liquid Eyeliner all-in-one duo is a genius product that combines two beauty must-haves; a black liquid liner and dramatic mascara.
Truthfully, I never expect much from these kind of duo products. Why I have that in my head, I have no idea, because I was so incredibly happy with the quality of both. In fact, the Liquid Eyeliner tools is one of the best I've ever used, despite the mini size (check out those flicks!). This is definitely one of those super convenient products you need for not just travel, but everyday.
