My 5 Steps for a Weekend Pamper Session

With a little help from Manicare and Natura Siberica.
________

Honestly, I would like to think that I had a little more 'me' time every week to pamper myself, but alas, between running a business, running errands and running a household, I don't. Welcome to the real world, they say. But you know what? Every once in a while a miracle occurs and I have a moment to say, "Screw you so-called 'real' world. I'm having a pamper sesh and I don't care what you think". In fact, I actually believe that spending a little time making yourself feel good on the outside is also great for making yourself feel fabulous on the inside, so it's a win-win situation we've got here. Surely even the 'real world' warriors could agree with that?

To hopefully inspire you to shuffle a few things around and spend some much warranted time of yourself, I've put together my steps for a relaxing pamper session that'll revive your skin and lighten your soul.
________

1. AMBIENCE

Nothing says I'm-taking-some-time-out-to-give-myself-some-lovin' like too many scented candles and some chilled beats for you and only you, right? There's just something so relaxing about surrounding yourself with a soft, warm, flickering light and the genius ballads of Bon Iver on repeat (or City and Colour - whatever floats your boat). Topping my list of favourite candles at the moment include, not surprisingly, the Glasshouse La Maison Triple Scented Candle and Palm Beach Collection Limited Edition Shibori Soy Candle, both of which you can find in almost every nook and cranny of my house.

Before I jump in the bath and get settled, I always make sure everything I need is within reach, like my towel, nibblies, a glass of water (and/or wine), a book or laptop and any pamper products I'll be using over the course of the session. After all, there's nothing worse than having to get up and pitter-patter dripping wet through the house. Yeah, it pays to be prepared.

2. RELAX

Before jumping into a steamy hot bath, add something to make your pamper session that little more special (no, I'm not talking about yourself yet) like bubbles, a bath bomb or, in this case, the Natura Siberica Bath Salt. A few tablespoons of these revitalising bath salts will not only make the room smell even more delicious, but also stop your skin from drying out thanks to extracts and oils including one of my all-time personal favourites, rose hip oil. Whether you sit back and relax with a good book or gentle music with the Manicare Soothing Eye Gels (which you cool in the fridge an hour before use), you'll be in a state of bliss before you know it.
________

3. SCRUB

Now that your senses are lulled, it's time to get back to work. I kid, I kid, kind of. Grab your tool of choice (I love either the Manicare Exfoliating Gloves or Body Loofah) or just your hands, and gently exfoliate your body with the Natura Siberica Oblepikha and Honey Body Scrub. This particular scrub is good for all sorts of things including nourishing, firming and detoxifying, which in turn means beautiful, glowing skin (hoorah!).

And since it's spring, even my feet get special treatment with the Manicare Ergonomic Pumice Stone and Manicare Pedicure File, which make them super soft and sandal ready. After all, I neglect my feet for the majority of the year, so it's about time I gave them some love.
________

4. NOURISH

Your relaxing bath may be over, but it doesn't mean the end for your pamper session. After all of that exfoliation, you're going to want to replenish your skin and the sweet-scented Natura Siberica Oblepikha Body Butter is packed with goodness to moisturise and hydrate. It's a very unique body butter, and not just due to it's sweet Siberian berry fragrance, but because of the way it melts into the skin. And so, the pure bliss continues.

I finish indulging my skin with the Natura Siberica Oblepikha Hand Cream and Foot Cream, and then slip on a pair of socks to lock in the treatment, especially after removing the dry skin (oh, isn't it a lovely thought?). The things we do!
________

5. RELAX

When you spend all this time relaxing, scrubbing and nourishing your body, I feel as though it would be a tragedy to undo all that work by, well, working. In fact, what you should really do after a pamper session (time permitting, of course) is to relax a little lot more. Grab a magazine, a book, a few DVDs (do people even use them still?) and snuggle up with chocolate (or other desired treat) and more water wine. If you're going to do it, you may as well do it properly, right?
________

Tell me you're not even a little bit tempted to enjoy a pamper sesh after reading that!
