The Blushes I’ve Been Wearing All Spring
Peaches and pink for the apples of my cheeks.
________
With spring coming to an end in just a few short weeks, it seems like the perfect time to share with you the blushes that have been gracing my cheeks all season long. Recently, it's the Maybelline FIT Me! Blush in Medium Pink that has been giving me a faux healthy flush, with its pale pink hue and a hint of peach. It's not too heavily pigmented, which means it's great for beginners dabbing their hands (or their brushes) in blush for the first time or someone who prefers a very subtle hint of colour, but also layers and blends exceptionally well.
Just as subtle is the lit-from-within Jane Iredale PurePressed Blush in Whisper that I raved on about during The 7 Day Makeup Challenge. The Sugar Baby Sweet Cheeks Baked Powder Blusher in Pink is a more glowing and pigmented version of the Jane Iredale Blush, and when I say 'glowing', what I really mean is radiate. It is really quite spectacular and a must-swatch, in the very least.
Deceivingly pigmented is another new favourite from Charlotte Tilbury, the Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in First Love. While the two-tone blush looks subtle in the pan, it most certainly is not. A light dab with your brush is all you'll need to create a peachy matte hint of colour on the apples of your cheeks. Of course, if you don't want it to be too deep, just grab the lighter hue around the edge of the palette instead.
I'll admit, while I tend to lean towards the peachy-pinks, sometimes I feel like a sweet swipe of pretty pink, which is one-third of the reason I adore the Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Sculpting Trio in Sassy (you can read all about the other two-thirds of adoration here).
And then finally, how could I possibly leave out the Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Robust Rhubarb, one of my favourite all-time creamy cheek products. While it applies super pigmented, it blends effortlessly into a very natural flush, like you've just gone for a short jog on a warm day. The best thing about this cream blush from Clinique is that it adds dewiness to your look, further amplifying that healthy complexion a blush can create.
What blushes have you been wearing lately? Whether you're in spring or fall, I want to hear about them all!
