The Catch-Up: A Much Needed Sleepy Long Weekend
Our weekly conversation.
________
Another week, another weekly catch-up. As we do every week, not only do I want to talk to you about the highlights of my week, but I also want to know about yours! Did you finish an amazing book? Have an exciting meeting? Or try a new foundation? No matter what it is, I'd love to know! After all, Lion in the Wild is all about conversation, getting to know each other and discovering new things.
1. A sleepy long weekend. I feel like the beginning of each year is jam-packed with long, lazy weekends and words can't describe how much I really needed this one. I've been feeling so worn out over the last couple of weeks (even coffee can't do anything for my heavy lids), so yesterday's sleep-in was much appreciated. Today we were up at dawn to remember the Australian and New Zealand soldiers that have served and died in war for ANZAC Day. And since then, I've been wrapped up in my Rise of Dawn cardigan again for a Netflix marathon. Heh-heh-heh. I can't think of anything better than wearing a cosy knit and spending the day relaxing, can you?
2. Lush pamper session. Speaking of lazy weekends, I'm so looking forward to indulging in my new Lush goodies, a warm bath and a good book tonight. To me, it doesn't get much better than that, especially when Lush is involved, one of my favourite pamper night companions. I'm getting excited just thinking about it.
3. Harper Hair studio. If you follow me on the @lioninthewild Instagram, then you'd know that after 1.5 years of refusing to go to the hairdresser, my blogging bestie Ashleigh (who has the best hair) put me onto Harper Hair Studio and Tan. Before long, I found myself in their beautiful studio in Subiaco, sipping on a cappuccino and chatting to owner Taylia as she worked her magic on my long locks. A few hours later (and almost falling asleep at the basin - who doesn't love an amazing head massage?), I was smiling ear-to-ear with brand new hair. I wanted natural balayage highlights, a trim without losing too much length and shorter hair surround my face, and you know what? That's exactly what I got and better. Local ladies, I really couldn't recommend Harper Hair Studio more. And as somebody who rarely gets her hair done, I cannot wait to go back already!
4. Converse x Maddie's Sneaker. I love a good sneaker, but the sneaker is even cooler when a portion of the sales goes towards a very worthy cause. Super rad brand Converse has teamed up with Maddie Riedwoldt's Vision to create the limited edition purple Maddie's Sneaker. $20 from each sale goes towards finding a cure for Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome, which affects younger Australians and is severely underfunded. Make sure you get your pair before they're sold out and share them on Instagram using the tag #FightLikeMaddie.
5. The Magic Foundation. I love everything by Charlotte Tilbury, so when I got my hands on her new Magic Foundation, I had very high expectations. I've heard only amazing things about Charlotte Tilbury's foundation and it's been high on my list to try, so I thought I would film my experience with a First Impressions video (woohoo!). Keep an eye out because it's coming very soon.
