The Catch-Up: Roses and Makeup
Our conversation.
________
It's been a while since we last had a good old fashioned catch-up, hasn't it? I've been incredibly busy lately working on exciting projects with my clients, both as a blogger, and a stylist, photographer and art director. There's no rest for the wicked, apparently, although today's sleepy face could real do with a day off. Needless to say though, this year is shaping up to be the most exciting yet! More on that later, of course. For now though, here are five of my highlights from the last couple of weeks.
1. Rose water, literally. I had the pleasure of working with Hayley Parker PR lately to create images for Cilk Rose Water, a beauty drink supplement. While it was the stunning packaging that first caught my attention, it's the delicious light rose and vanilla flavour, and the wonderful benefits of damascena that have me adding a few drops to my water everyday since.
2. The 100% Natural Lipstick. After much anticipation, I finally got my hands on the Burt's Bees 100% Natural Lipsticks and they do not disappoint. Burt's Bees has played a huge part in my skincare routine for many, many years (among my favourites, the Beeswax Lip Balm and the Almond & Milk Hand Cream), so I'm excited to introduce the brand into my makeup bag too. They're super creamy, pigmented and, of course, moisturising - can't go wrong!
3. The new foundation in my makeup bag. Last week I shared with you my favourite things from Sephora at the moment (like you need help - ha!), and since then I have been using the It Cosmetics CC+ Full Coverage Cream SPF50+ non-stop. There's no doubting that this amazing foundation is join got be a permanent fixture in my makeup bag.
4. Chicken and pumpkin laksa. I'm not really one to spend any more time in the kitchen than I have to, I'll admit, but that doesn't mean I can't whip up a mean meal. In fact, ever since Brad and I found ourselves in a 'food rut' (trust me, they do exist after years of eating the same things), we have been creating all sorts of new dishes. Last night, we cooked a chicken and pumpkin laksa, and it was delicious. Don't tell anyone, but I'm kind of enjoying cooking right now.
5. The office clean-up. My office has been turned into a studio over the last couple of weeks and, thus, has become a bit of a dumping ground (beauty products, clothes, boxes, you name it). There is literally stuff everywhere and it's killing me, so I'm hoping I'll get a day this week to tidy it (woohoo!).
As you know, I also want to know about your week! Did you eat somewhere new? Finish exams? Or perhaps you had a relaxing week? No matter what it is, I'd love to know! After all, Lion in the Wild is all about conversation, getting to know each other and discovering new things.
