The Biker Jacket, Collared Top and Mule Slides
Mixing preppy, tough and minimalist styles.
________
While everyone seems to be celebrating the beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere (my Bloglovin' feed currently reads like: Summer Dresses this, Summer Beauty that - you get my point), the temperatures continue to drop in Australia as we get into the thick of winter.
I, for one, am thoroughly enjoying the crisp air that I can only interpret as my excuse to don leather jackets and tailored trousers for the next few months. Shaving your legs is so overrated anyway, right? Just kidding, kind of.
This week I went out for brunch with my beautiful mother dearest, our usual delicious way to catch-up (and we're not complaining about that!). I finally got to wear a couple of new favourite pieces in my wardrobe; my white collared Sambag top and Blank Canvas mule slides from Shopbop.
I'm a huge fan of combining different styles, so I really wanted to offset the preppy collared top with a tough leather jacket and the minimalist mule slides. Of course, it was my first instinct to wear my favourite pair of black skinny jeans, but then I rediscovered these tailored trousers that I've had for years and years. And I'm glad I did because they're still in perfect condition, despite wearing them for work almost everyday back when I wasn't working from home (now that's a great investment!). Needless to say, I'm not going to be getting rid of them any time soon.
Today, though, I'm snuggled up in some comfy loungewear in a bid to get rid of a little cold I managed to pick up between Monday and Thursday (thanks mate). It's really nothing to be honest, so I'll be busy drinking copious amounts of ginger and lemon tea, working, and cleaning my office this weekend. I've said it before and I'll say it again, thank goodness I love my job!
What are you up to this weekend? I'd love to know!

I'm wearing: Target faux leather biker jacket, Sambag collared top (half price!), black trousers (old - this pair is very similar), Ray-Ban shades from Sunglasses Shop, Cluse watch, Glassons black pom-pom, Botkier bag and Blank Canvas mule slides, both from Shopbop.
