Strolling the Pretty Streets of Paris

Before we departed for our UK and European adventure, I did a big holiday wardrobe haul (if you follow me on the @lioninthewild Instagram, you may have caught the unboxing on Insta Stories). After all, who doesn’t love a new wardrobe when you’re touring a fabulous new city?

I knew it was going to be chilly during our trip (although it was a lot colder than we’d expected!), so I stocked up on practical pieces like jackets and knitted jumpers that would keep me as warm as toast. I also made sure I would be able to layer them up if I needed, which is one reason why I like buying tops a size or two too big. And ‘cause I just like ‘em that way.

I’d heard a mix of experiences from friends who had been to Paris before we arrived, but Brad and I try to travel without any expectations or romantic notions. Quite frankly, we loved Paris. Heck, us early bird’s even got used to the whole eating at 9:30PM thing and enjoyed it! The city itself is a cool mix of prettiness and femininity and grunginess. There’s so much history, so much to see and do and learn and eat. Oh, how I miss my daily croissant!

You’ve already heard the story about how I lost our hard drive (with all of our Paris photos on it), but thankfully we’d not deleted the snaps we had taken on our last morning in the beautiful city. After an epic breakfast spread at Hotel Vernet, we checked-out and spent the rest of the morning strolling through the pretty streets of Champs-Élysées and Chaillot, taking a million photos as we went.

It was a sunny yet cool spring day, so I was rugged up in my new threads from ASOS; a pink corduroy jacket, chunky knitted jumper (on sale and available in all sizes!) and an oh-so-cliché beret. Later we found ourselves on the Thayls train from Paris Gare du Nord to Amsterdam Centraal, and the outfit proved both comfy and warm (although I definitely had to strip off some layers on the way).

Paris, I can’t wait to see you again. And next time I’ll bring two hard drives.

I’m wearing:

Pieces pink corduroy jacket (sold out, but very similar style here), Willow & Paige black and white jumper (on sale!), and black beret, all from ASOS, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag (affordable alternatives here and here), Acne Studios skinny jeans and Andy Csinger x Walnut Melbourne boots from The Iconic.
